Why do people care if hes on the team? For some sentimental reason? Just put him in some ambassador role and call it good.

Im one of his biggest fans but what a waste of fucking time to sign him to anything. Dude is making millions upon millions. Hes fine.

As I understand it the stretching is just for the organizations books, I think they still get their money at the times agreed on the contract. But im fucking stupid so this is just an assumption. Its probably different than deferred, like how it was with Bobby bonilla, ken Griffey, etc.

Yeah, I think Dame's best move now is to find out who is making the biggest bid for the team and offer to be their figure head. Retire, take his time with his rehab and be the face of the Blazers new ownership. I bet he could get a small piece of the team just by being the owner's go between the media and the team.

If he's willing to sign for a minimum contract, and just rehab here, sure. But I don't really think he's going to come back (and not because of the weird "He HaTeS JoDy AnD JoE cRoNiN!" battle cry some have).

Something in your permissions is preventing it. I would suggest a different browser but if you're on an iPhone you only get one browser engine.

I assume if you were on an Android you would have already tried a different browser.

Or perhaps you're using a specific kind of ad blocker that has Reddit blocked?

Yeah - he's not going to be happy going from where the franchise revolved around him and did every action with his approval - to all the sudden being a 15th man waiving a towel.

Eventually the team can bring him back for a role. Give him some time to come to terms with the new chapter in his life.

In terms of team building I get it but to say the team does not OWE him is BS -- he is one of the top 3 players to EVER suite up and the total lack of respect he gets pisses me off and if that is how you feel -- your not a Blazers fan and this is a hill i will die on.

No reason to sign Dame now as he is getting his money and would just be rehabbing this year anyhow. Hopefully he can rehab at the PF and be around the organization.

Brandon Roy had a big one. Josh Smith with Detroit had a big one. Dame's is probably bigger since the cap is so much higher now. But those might have been a pretty huge % of the cap.

Gilbert Arenas and John Wall had big ones too but I think only 1-2 seasons so would have been smaller.
 
I anticipate Dame having the same recovery as Kobe. Same age- and will provide a lot to his new team.

Owners can't play so he'd have to 100% be committed to retire for good.

Well unless he just wants to be an employee and not have any cut of ownership.

i have safari, chrome and google browser options on my iphone.
