So what's next for the roster

We could always see how Roy's knees are feeling

We have yet to make a move post Aldridge leaving. Before Saturday Olshey and crew were able to work under the guise that Aldridge might be coming back. Even though we questioned Batum being traded for a role player and a project, the trade for Plumlee, and our buying of second round picks to net us the insurance of Connaughton and Diez (not sure how much insurance that really is) and the signing of Ed Davis, etc. we kept up hope that Olshey was engineering some amazing lineup for Aldridge to rise up with. Now that the smoke has cleared and we know Aldridge has gone for sure, everything has gone quiet. Olshey and crew are like a deer caught in the headlights. They're next move is critical, they have to make the right trade, or sign the right guy, come up with the next pitch (checks these young guys out, they can really play; its gonna be interesting seeing them grow) Whatever Olshey is planning next, it better be a wise move, but he'd also like Canzano said, better start taking some hostages, because there are not many left. Most of what was left after the big free agents were all signed is drying up like a lake in the Sahara. So Olshey, whether you are gonna wheel and deal Kaman, trade nothing for a miracle, or sign some new young energetic force, you'd better get to it.

"Like Canzano said"............you lost me there.

smh. KJ then! I'd totally get behind a 3/20 deal for him and that would definitely give HOU pause.

Yeah I don't understand what are pause is on this...we could simply offer him more then Houston and it would be done. Olshey probably busy trying to sell Kaman for a babe

Which actually are great moves if you ask me. Don't blow your load on bid wars on available FA. Swing for the fences. We can offer a Max to Kanter and 6 mil to Daniels because of our space right out the gate.

Aaaand just like that we have no cap space for the next 4 years and a reserved seat to the ass end of the lotto.

Any team giving a max deal to Kanter is going to feel like they just woke up in Bangkok with a new tatoo and the receipt for a baby elephant in their pocket.

And missing a kidney.

don't teams have to wait til July 9 to offer on other teams FA's

OKC will match bro. I'm almost sure of it. You tie your division rival's hand and steal Adams for half price

Yes, but technically all free agents must do this. Meaning nothing is truly set in stone until then.

July 9, is best for RFA because they must sign the offer sheet first, then the other team can match or decline. No point showing your hand until then.

If they don't you're fucked.

Let some other fools go for it.

Kanter may not be worth the max, but remember he was only 22 years old last year. And I don't know that he's any worse defensivly than Monroe, who most on this board seemed to want. But he is one of the best big men in the game offensively(better than Monroe).

As Neil said, bring in people that bring something elite to the table.

It will only be 4 years, and we have a lot of guys on mediocre contracts for quite some time. We already had our mass exodus.

I'm not trying to disagree here buddy. Read it again...

We gambled that he would stay. He didn't and hence we burned the house down.

If the gamble paid off, you get one of the top 3 PFs in the league.

If you gamble on Kanter and lose, you get a project at all-star price. Ooopsie! Not good.

What else are we going to do with our cap space, build a boat? His defense may be a project, but his offense is already here. Not a bad gamble on a 23 year old center.

You don't have to use the cap space this year. But you can take back contracts in trade for pretty much nothing with the cap space. The list of FAs isn't all to be considered.

Kanter is a worthwhile gamble. Only 23 years old. Big men take longer than others to develop so he's still going to get better. There's no reason he can't develop into a decent defender. He's got size, he's got quick feet. It might just be a matter of want-to with him.

I wonder if Ben Mclemore is available?

Looking through the rosters for the future 3 and D guys, there just seem so few of em. An I want us to find the next guy, not one who is already there.

I'd only go for Kanter if Boozer was the other option
