OT Sounds like we could get some snow later this week with some possible freezing rain

6.5 inches of snow here in N.E. Portland!
Busy streets through town are pretty bad. Tons of cars abandoned on the sides of the roads. ALMOST didn't get home on our backstreets coming up the hills here in Alameda. No tire tracks whatsoever to drive in here. Thanks god for that All-Wheel Drive baby! Made it home from work safe.

usually driving in the tracks is not the best because that's where it melts and refreezes into ice. You will usually get better traction on fresh snow.

The good news is the power didnt go out last night until i finished the Blazers game!!!
Been out since about 11 pm last night though.
Roughin it out here in Canby in the sticks!!!!

Power as been out for 7 hours now

PGE says estimated time back on is Monday morning

Hardly any snow here in Oregon City, but plenty of ice. It was tough trying to sleep last night because of the noise from tree limbs in the big trees in our backyard cracking and dumping ice all night long. Good news is that the power is still on (so far) and no major damage to our place. A guy a street over had a big oak limb hit his house. Not sure how much damage that did.

Just cold rain in Lane county....no ice....47 degrees....still have power

Very sly of you. Better than freezing your tail off.

I could see the ice building on the power lines so I made the reservation a couple of hours before he lost power. Free cancellation so it was a good move.

My mother-in-law's neighborhood in Wilsonville is without power and PGE's website is showing Monday morning as the estimated time to get it back on. Roads between here and there are a mess, with 99E closed entirely. She has a gas fireplace, but that's it as far as heat goes, and no way to cook anything. Maybe we could get her an Uber to a hotel in the area that has heat. What a mess. I'll take snow any day of the week compared to frickin' ice.

We have 90,000 cc points, room was 7,000. Fuck it!

Stay safe out there. Fwiw, my kid at St Paul will have -4, feels like -21 today, so, it can get worse...

Got caught in a huge sandstorm in vegas. Actually parked behind a grocery store for cover, it was nuts. A garden shed was being blown across the parking lot.

You should have bought the shed, doesn't get more dip than that.

Took a drive up to the store to get more beer and there was cars stuck everywhere around me.

My 4 runner v8 sport edition was just purring and climbing over the snow packs. When I bought this puppy the owner said when him and his dad go hunting they prefer it over their 2 ton Ford. Now I know why.

I mean I’ve driven in white out conditions in the Okanogans. I think I’ll keep her and give to the kids as their first car. Probably will get wrecked quick but oh well they’ll get to experience the beast in a snowstorm or two first hopefully

Nothing like getting blown across a parking lot to make a person park behind a grocery store!

My Subaru Outback is great in the snow. Unfortunately, right now it’s encased in about 2” of ice.

My power came back on earlier today. Went about 12 hours without it

Most important thing is the tires. Last big snow there was when I lived in Portland I had no issues with a rear wheel drive bmw going up to the zoo to pickup a kid with all kinds of suvs in ditches, because I had a set of blizzaks and they were running all season tires.

My wife, very sensibly parked her Subaru downtown and I drove with the kid to pick her up with that old bimmer
