In grad school, they filmed Jerry Springer and Jenny Jones across the street from our downtown campus. I used to attend those as a member of the audience all the time. They film two per studio audience. The best one ever? "My Breasts Are Too Big".

We were yelling for them to flash at the beginning of the show, and they obliged. They also had a part of the show where the women were topless. Seriously, they will give them drinks during the show, just to loosen them up. I freaking love those trainwrecks.

I defend speech no matter how stupid or pointless. I think he/she was doing us a favor; he/she let us know exactly what to think of him/her. We don't have to wonder.

I'm not a fan of rules. If we can have a photograph called "Piss Christ", we certainly can have one called "Shit Pinwheel".

Again, all the poster does is diminish themself with such a post.

If you are talking freedom of speech then you should have been more specific. And even freedom of speech has limitations. Per the forum rules one of those limitations is posting images that can get people in trouble at work.

Next time, I'll bring in our General Counsel before I post. Also, if you're surfing at work and could get into trouble in the first place, why do you have photos on? You can turn them off. I suggest you do so.

One of those limitations is that it only prohibits the GOVERNMENT from banning certain types of speech.

A private entity, such as an internet message board that is not governmental or quasi-governmental, may restrict communication as much as they please. Those in charge of a board may want to do so when certain posters post nothing but lewd or disgusting photos and do not add to the discourse in any meaningful way.

Absolutely, the moderators here have every right to ban anything or anyone they wish. My point is that they shouldn't.
