I don't think he's trading CJ. He's completely married to this backcourt and I just don't get it.....

I mean, I do get it..... CJ and Dame are like family. I think that's the main reason why he hasn't been traded.

When CJ is expiring I think he'd consider trading him for the right piece.

As it stands though Dame/CJ haven't had a truly healthy squad to see what they can do.

oh boy!...you forgot to add "bake the cake" or "move the needle" or "RLEC" to that. All we have to do is wait till 2024 when Dame is 33 and CJ is 32 years old making 35M...and then we might finally get some good value for an expiring contract (or a TPE). Somewhere, over the rainbow

As it stands though Dame/CJ haven't had a truly healthy squad to see what they can do.

Were we healthy last year when we made it to the WCF? Some posters like you tend to look for the negatives where posters like me like to look at the positives :bgrin:

you're about the last poster here that should be spending any time trying to define another poster in negative terms. You lead the league in 'pot-meets-kettle' irony, and you're always lobbing rocks from the porch of your own glass house. What you call "negative" is quite often other posters trying to be realistic & objective instead of waving pompoms on the good ship lollypop while sunshine is pumped out of the poop deck

somebody said Dame/CJ hadn't had a healthy squad to "see what they can do".

I simply pointed out they were healthy against the Pelicans, and got swept. What about that isn't true?

is it even possible for you to make a post to this forum when you aren't trashing another poster here, in one form or another? That's all you seem to do...attack other posters for their opinions, as if your own fucking opinions are gold-plated while everyone else's are tin. The internet is a mountain of hypocrites, but you seem to want to be king of that useless hill

I attacked you? I gave an opposing opinion. You didn't like it. You need to get over it. You have a very proven track record of dwelling on the negative side of things for the Blazers in this forum. I dwell on the positive side of things. We're opposites. It doesn't bother me the names you called me and it shouldn't bother you if you truly believe in what you post. :biglaugh:

it's right there above. You said "posters like you" for fuck sakes. Your first response, as it almost always is, was to try and cast me as negative...whereas you are mr. positive and isn't that just so much better. It's mild but yeah, it's an attack, but more than that, it's your style to almost always start out by going after the poster instead of the post

but let's see if you can actually deal with the post, instead of the poster...

again: somebody said Dame/CJ hadn't had a healthy squad to "see what they can do".

I simply pointed out they were healthy against the Pelicans, and got swept. That looks pretty factual to me unless the argument is Harkless only playing two of the games was a critical injury. But then, that leads to how often any team is completely healthy by the time the playoffs roll around. Only getting two games from somebody who averaged 6 points and 3 rebounds during the regular season doesn't seem like a significant loss. So then, since when is saying something that's accurate a negative spin?

Harkless, arguably our best perimeter defender missed the first two games boss.. Considering we lost the opening game by only two points I'd say it's significant.

yeah, but when was the last time any team went into the playoffs completely healthy? That's a pretty strict standard you're using to gauge the Dame/CJ team.

* Mo Williams missed 3 games in the 2013-14 playoffs because of injury and Dorell Wright had a bum ankle
* Matthews missed the 2014-15 playoffs, Lopez had a wrap on his hand from a mid-season fracture, and Afflalo missed 2 games from a sprained ankle
* Blazers were healthy in 2015-16, but then the Clippers weren't, and the only game they won against Golden State, Curry was out (for the 1st three games)
* Nurkic only played 17 minutes in the 2016-17 playoffs
* Harkless played only 2 games in 2017-18
* Nurkic was out last season and Kanter was injured

in other words, Portland has only been completely healthy in one playoff out of six, and I think that's probably about the same for all teams. If that's the standard you're using to judge the Dame-CJ pairing it's a standard that likely won't ever be met. I mean, if the Blazers make the playoffs this season, Hood will be out and best case is Nurk and Collins not being anywhere close to normal. So that would be one year out of seven the Blazers have been healthy. It's a strange standard to use IMO, unless the goal is to excuse playoff failures.

and as far as Harkless being hobbled two years ago, it would be a more credible excuse if Portland didn't get swept while having HCA. By the way, the Pelicans were missing Demarcus Cousins for that series

Harkless played in game 2 and 3. They sat him out in Game 4 because the series was over.

I don't think it is.

Series doesn't start until a team wins on the road. In this case it was game one in Portland, Harkless's eighth missed game in a row. Downplay the significance all you want but the facts remain the same.

Lol, go for a chill man. I never said i thought i was better than you because you like to be negative. It's how you are in this forum. If that's what you want to be then own it and embrace it then. :bgrin:

I didn't downplay anything, you stated something that wasn't true and I corrected you.

My keys to contention are three fold: Health, Defense, and Coaching. Two strikes against Stotts there so with a Dame/CJ pairing having our key defenders healthy is critical IMO. Not sure what's so strange about this belief.

Not "strange" - just a bit unrealistic. Injuries are part of sports. Not having Hark for the first game of that series was the kind of problem that every team has to deal with.

Now, our CURRENT injury problems are a whole other kettle of krab krap!

Aminu nursing an Ankle. Dame brand new father and finger on left hand. CJ ankle. Wasn’t Turner nursing something?
