I mean would you rather them say. 'it's getting better, but we still don't have a date for his return.'
Because with this injury that's prolly what they'd say as it's not a bone or something that has a set timeline.
That's what Quick tweeted a few days ago, but I was hoping for more detail: benchmarks they're looking for/ likelihood for return this season/ what he's doing now/ etc etc.

this 'CJ-would-be-an-all-star-in-the-East' narrative has been around for a while and I just don't think it's based upon reality

the idea he's be a good number one option is also highly questionable. He has had only average efficiency as a scorer and shooter so far, and that's with Dame getting all the attention of the defenses. He's never had to play through and overcome an opposing defense when it has been prepared to make him the primary focus. He's drafted off of Dame for 4 years and suddenly, he'd go to the East and be 'the man' for several teams? No team with CJ as the number one option is going anywhere in the playoffs IMO

stick him on some generic east team and give him 3 more shots a game (and god knows how many more dribbles). He'd then be 2nd behind Harden in the number of FGA's a game and he'd still only be 15th in the league in scoring. And that's under the highly questionable assumption he could maintain his current efficiency without any drop-off due to defensive attention

5 guards in an all-star game. I'm looking at those lists and seeing 8 or 9 players that are better than CJ. And for every player like Kyle Lowry who would be dropping out due to age, there are young guys like Trae Young and Sexton and Richardson on their way up
CJ looks a lot different when he's the number one option at least to me.....but I really still see him as a 6 man in the Jason Terry, Jamal Crawford role as a Blazer being ideal...his contract will dispute that for sure...and I'm not sure those guys lighting up the eastern conference would be that much better in CJ's Robin role in the west...but you could very well be right...he might not dazzle or carry a team to the playoffs in the east...we speculate

sure....I agree he'd probably be a excellent 6th man ( just so long as he didn't go nuclear on being a ball-hog) along the lines of Lou Williams or Jamal Crawford. He's probably not a good a passer as those guys, but maybe he could be in that role. The one thing those two were much much better at was drawing fouls and getting to the FT line. So, when they were doing the volume shooting of the 6th man role they maintained good scoring efficiency. That will always by a weakness for CJ

one thing is, Williams and Crawford between them have five 6th man of the year awards....and zero all-star games. Only 5 per conference per year makes that a pretty exclusive club

I think CJ will be back before the playoffs. It appears that he's healing up quick.

I think he must be getting close. He is traveling with the team to Denver.

Quick said yesterday on 1080 that it wouldn't surprise him if they trot out CJ for 15 mins on sunday.

Thinks if the playoffs were happening right now, he'd probably be playing, albeit not at full strength. He sounded optimistic.

what's a burner account?
I believe it's a second logon moniker as in one you don't need or could burn up and not really miss it. Sometimes people will join up multiple times because there's a moniker that is interesting or funny.

But Lanny has always just been Lanny. He don't hide from anybody anywhere.

I asked Lillard if CJ was going to play the night we killed Memphis and he said both assertively and instantly, no. I'm going to presume that means CJ is unlikely to play tonight. However, with my luck at predictions, CJ will suit up. Upshot- flip a coin.

Quick bashing is getting quite old. Time and again, he has shown to be the most insightful and best beat writer in Portland. And he's connected.
Nope. Not even close. Insight is something everyone has. His is usually wrong. And there is not one player or assistant on the team that trusts him at all. Don't fool yourself. There is a reason he is no longer close to the team. No it's not because he told the truth......

What do you know, and when did you know it!!?
When you say that, for some odd reason, I'm reminded of Franky Four-Fingers in the movie Snatch.
