The hate for Neil is real

Olshey's act fooled most of us... some for a couple years, some up until this week, but I don't know how anyone can defend him anymore.
I think he hired the best candidate but then again I don't base my opinion on, "how will this make me look virtuous to misandrist women?".

It is amazing that this is the same man that made a big trade to help the Clippers out in getting Chris Paul, but won't do shit to help our team. There has been superstars out there that have been traded and he didn't take a single leap to try and obtain them. Even then, all stars like Vucevic was traded. The fact he loves CJ as much as he does is disgusting and he is not the right man to GM any team. get the fuck off my team, Neil. Someone grow a fucking pair of balls and fire him.

I've said many times I don't like volatile coaches that scream through a game...I don't think it motivates players at all...I think it causes tension on the court and off the court and it's why Van Gundy gets fired over and over...I think high strung fans like high strung coaches and the adrenaline rush from big ups and downs....it's why I like easy going coaches and likeable players
That reminds me; have you noticed how much Quinn Snyder has calmed down? You can still see the intensity, but it doesn't feel "mad dog" anymore.

bs...and how do you know what he has tried and hasnt tried. I get it, were ready for a new GM, but we've had some decent players come around Davis, Rolo, RoCo, Nurk, Hood, and others. Thbe Clippers were Handed CP by the fing league as they didnt want him in a Lakers uni. Most GM's in his league miss and dont forget Portland is a junior training ground, a spring board for other options. We need new ownership imo along with new management.

The Paul deal to the Lakers was shitty compared to the Clippers one. The league was well within its rights to do it.

Los Angeles Lakers: PG Chris Paul (from Hornets)

New Orleans Hornets: F Lamar Odom (from Lakers), SG Kevin Martin (from Rockets), PF Luis Scola (from Rockets), PG Goran Dragic (from Rockets)

Houston Rockets: PF Pau Gasol (from Lakers)

Vs. Chris Kaman, Al-Farouq Aminu, Eric Gordon and Minnesota's unprotected 2012 first-round pick

Everyone in their right mind at the time would have picked the second one. A bunch of vets that get you the 14th pick in the lottery versus a young star and a top 10 pick. Gordon didn't pan out, but it was still better than the Laker's deal.

I actually think Neil will have his best offseason. Sorry, but i don't hate him, or what he has done. The injuries key players have suffered over the years have affected his performance as well. Has he made some bad signings, sure, but some good ones too. I don't blame him for Flaky LaMarcus' decision either. The worst trade ,IMO, was the Will Barton to Denver deal. That was a fail. Listen guys aren't lining up to come to our beautiful city, because in most cases, they're blinded by the Smog & Glitz of Big City Life. Could he have drafted better, Yes! But so could most other GM's. That being said, he needs to hit a home run this offseason. And to do that, CJ is gonna be part of that deal.

You blame injuries as part of it but then say the will barton trade is the worst even though Wes injured himself just after that trade, forcing afflalo to be a starter and that ruined everything.

That trade was going to be great for us until then. Neil may be one of the worst gms the league has ever seen but that trade was not that bad in the moment.

Injuries have kind of screwed him.

Wesley Matthews
Meyers Leonard
Jusuf Nurkic (year after year)
Enes Kanter
Zach Collins (year after year)
Little
CJ

Etc

There have been a lot of injuries that have hurt the Blazers

I disagree. Will was showing way more than Ant has. Maybe that's why he's so big on Ant. Doesn't want to make the same mistake.

Will showed about the same as Simons has so far

The Nurk Leg injury was the worst, cause that team was cookin'. Beat the Warriors twice, and they had no defense for him. That was a potential Trophy year with Nurk.

Blazers might well have won it all that year

Same as the Wesley matthews year. Blazers were cooking then too

Losing will isn't my issue. Will is just a Lou Williams type you can find anywhere. But people who say the trade was dumb forget what the trade was actually about.

My focal point was just the one trade.

Will is more than a talent ,"You can find anywhere" . He has turned into a good defender and shot maker. He was Denver's 2nd best player against the Suns. But Morris and Rivers turned back into frogs after their meteortic shooting vs. The Blazers. And it wasn't the Suns defense either. They just bricked wide open, after wide open shots.

You can find a will barton anywhere or he wouldn't be on the bench.

The moral of the story is it was a good trade that an injury derailed. There is no counter argument to the fact. Thanks.

he was in their starting lineup before being injured

Dwight lands the first softball question of the presser... no shock there.

Got to stay on Olshey's payroll.

Getting a real back-up veteran PG instead of having Ant play out of position would be a good start. Ant is a way more athletic/less polished Seth Curry, but he’s only 22. Neil needs to accept it and move on. That’s a hell of a role player for a 24th player selected. Let him develop into that instead of thinking he’s a poor man’s Steph Curry and playing him out of position off the bench.
I kinda want to see if Chauncey can turn Simons into more of a PG. He's been credited with improving Kawhi's, PG's, and Reggie Jackson's playmaking.

I just came here to say that Twitter sucks. The active users aren't representative of the general population, and the actions of users aren't representative of actions in real life.

It psychologically rewards tribalism and supports escalation without any hope of healthy resolution.

It's seriously, seriously not a good thing for individuals or society.

It's too easy to communicate a message, and there isn't the usual punishment for saying bad things. These combine allow people to turn off their filters, and their brains.
