Rep'd!

Olshey: "we're prepared to give you ten million a year."
Matthews: "I want what Nico got."
Olshey: "Trust me you don't"
Matthews: "I'm pretty sure I do."
Neil (gets on the phone): "This is Neil. Yeah, make it look like an accident"
Matthews: "Ten million sounds great."

Matthews: "Hello, David Griffin? Blazers only want to pay me 10 mil/year, I want the 11.6 Batum got"
Griffin: "...uhhhh hang on a minute, will you Wesley..." *erases 14 mil desperation offer they were going to make after Cavs flamed out* "...uhhh, yeahhh I think we just might juuuuust be able to work something out"

Asked if he’s looking forward to free agency after going undrafted five years ago, Matthews told The Post: “Definitely, but for now I’m a Trail Blazer. I know I've heard this same statement over & over by other players.

BGD deserves some props. He is right up there with Jinxspeed and MM as biggest stoker of the fires. (Or should it be toker?)

The fact that Mathews said that he's definitely looking forward to free agency is what bothers me.

The only plus for NBA teams hoping Matthews will leave Portland is the old regime, and not current Portland general manager Neil Olshey, acquired Matthews.

But...

Neil may love him more than the older regime. Wesley is an easy sell. He's been here. He knows the team. The town. And I believe he is comfortable. All Neil has to do is offer him fair market value and maybe a smidge more and I think he signs.

What are they going to do, offer him the max? Portland will give him 10 mil. I'd let LA walk before Matthews. I think Portland wouldn't mind going over the cap, with the understanding that Batum won't be making 12 mil on his next contract.

Shocking

Wow like we didn't see that statement before by you

There was zero mention of any "strategy" that the Knicks could use to sign Wes. Unless the strategy was to let Wes score 26 points in 26 minutes?

In fact, the Blazers have a diamond in the rough in starting 6-foot-5 shooting guard Wesley Matthews, a broad-shouldered stalwart defender who has a deft perimeter-shooting touch and will become a free agent July 1.
"Diamond in the rough"?

Yeah, because Wesley Matthews is a "project".

I do not think that phrase means what he thinks it means.

And Wes is hiding, under the radar, waiting for the "zen meister" to scoop him up because no one else recognizes Wesley's value.

For only $10 million.

OK.

Yeah, Wes hasnt been a diamond in the rough since WE signed him originally. Typical NYK running about 5 years behind. "We here there is a this kid in NOLO that might, just MIGHT have some potential. Quick! Swoop him up before someone notices."

Between the too of you, not sure which to of you would get it right if I gave you to chances to get it right between you too. Two often it takes to many guesses.

That was hard.
Do you like giving a hard time to two, too?
