The Nurk injury update thread

Welcome to our community

Be a part of something great, join today!

Terry Rozier and PG13 both folded their leg like that and both are doing great in the league now. As far as our season... it's over. We needed everything Nurk brought and we'll likely go out in the first round.

The worst part about it is the fans of whatever team sweeps us will never let us forget it. They'll be insufferable. The whole league loves to bully this fucking team.

I'm TIRED of being the league's punching bag.

PORTLAND, Ore. (March 26, 2019) – Trail Blazers center Jusuf Nurkic sustained compound fractures to his left tibia and fibula with 2:22 remaining in the second overtime of Portland’s win over Brooklyn on Monday.

There is no timetable for his return to basketball activity. His status will be updated as appropriate.

In 72 games this season (all starts), Nurkic averaged career highs of 15.6 points, 10.4 rebounds, 3.2 assists and 1.00 steal to go with 1.40 blocks. He shot a career-best 50.8% from the field and 77.3% from the foul line. Nurkic posted a career-high 36 double-doubles and led the Trail Blazers in rebounds 46 times, assists 12 times and points eight times. He ranks 15th in the NBA in rebounding and 16th in blocks.

Honestly this is better than an ankle or knee injury.

Man, FUCK that ref that walks right into Nurk's broken leg as he's laying there in agony.

I'm seriously having trouble coming up with a reason why the ref would take that path right through Nurk's foot?

That guy should be ashamed of himself and probably deserves to be fired for that.

its the nba where the refs do no wrong and will be backed up to hell or high water. adam silver is probably talking to him now saying what agreat job you guys did at sucking ass at your job so much and clearly being a blind ass bitch kicking/tripping over nurk when hes in immense pain.

The best thing Nurk can do when he comes back is develop a 3-point shot. Seriously.

so he can drift and be like meyers? to me thats the worst thing he can do. means he doesnt trust his body anymore and that means no more downlow beast and maybe no more defensive presence ala mayers leonard.

George was out a year and a half. Nurk is done for this season and next.

I’m sick to my stomach.

Paul George officially returns to court 8 months after leg injury

It's now official. Paul George has returned to the court just over eight months after suffering a horrific compound fracture in his left leg during a Team USA scrimmage. The long-awaited return happened later than some expected in March, but earlier than many expected when it first happened.

George first checked into the game with 5:34 remaining in the first quarter. The above was how he was received. He then hit his first shot a couple minutes later.

Eight months seems to be the average recovery time for pro athletes. Collins will have to hold down the fort til November/December.

His career is already in jeopardy.....you really want to tempt fate again and have him go full balls Beast Mode in the paint when he recovers?

I don't. I want him to be around as long as possible. Meyers is NOTHING like Nurk. Meyers just doesn't have skill at anything other than iffy 3 point shooting. Nurk has a list of things he's good at.....except 3 point shooting.

idk, maybe im just too emotional to think straight right now but I dont like this mindeset. If youre worried about tempting fate why even play him then? We dont need another jumpshooter imo. If you want him to focus on working on his mid-range game Id be ok with that. hell tonight he was sinking a lot of jumpers and they looked great, but I still want to keep him downlow and and around the paint.

FUCK. This is fucking bullshit. What have we done to deserve this shit constantly? Who do we have to sacrifice a fucking goat to so that we can have a legit shot at winning a championship? Poor Nurk. He should have never put on a Portland jersey because it's apparently a curse.

Get well soon Nurk...come back stronger....beast like Bosnian Bear!

August 31st of last summer, my son had a spiral fracture of his tibia/fibula, but nothing like this compound we saw tonight. He had surgery to fix it and is now in full rehab mode. He will be cleared for college football July 1st according to his doctor. Which is the team doctor. He is amazing, Nurk is in good hands.

It's a sports franchise, it owes you nothing...ups and downs come with the territory..would coulda shoulda...next man up. Nurk gets that I'm sure...the goat might be worth a shot though....

Look, I'm not saying stand on the outside for 40 minutes a game. I'm just saying: develop a 3 point shot. It's not like it will hurt him to do so, AND he doesn't have to risk his body so much by banging up against 3 other guys in the paint, if he can shoot on the outside instead.

And imagine how much of a threat he would become! Those kinds of skills on Defense, passing, and rebounding....AND he has a 3 point shot too? Fuck, that would be awesome.

Just because he develops a 3 doesn't mean he's gonna lose the rest of his skills.

Compound fractures to both tib and fib basically means both bones were protruding through the skin? So this is almost identical to the PG injury, except on a bigger man. Pretty sad, I’d guess he starts limited minutes about a month before next postseason. It’s time for Zach to take a leap.

Couldn't read worst news when i woke up one hour ago :( first thing was to see how Blazers played and then this :( i am depressed. is this really true...Find my self in tears in a moment. Really wanted to see playoff batles and Blazers/Nurks progres :( Get well soon Nurk and you Blazers now step up and show the power in playoff. I believe in Dame, fingers crossed for Nurk and Blazers!
