kevin love gives handjobs to guys?
I think Dirk is done. He gave everything he had for 2011 NBA Championship. He has nothing left. He could win one or two more as a 6th man if he wanted but he's done as an All Star level player.
Your point?
nugs are aight, but they arent the kinda team that can grind it out in the playoffs
Anyone think that the Nuggets are a better team than the Knicks?
All the hype is surrounding the Knicks, but it seems to me that if you swapped their schedules, Denver would have a better record than the Knicks right now, especially when the 82 game season is all said and done.
Denver's frontcourt is just insanely intimidating. Three seven-footers to go with Faried and Gallinari... it's hard to get a rebound against those guys, much less defend them when Gallinari and Koufos are out there stretching the defense. Javale McGee is also underrated, considering how most people (myself included) usually just clown on the stupid plays he makes. For every stupid play the guy makes though, he makes some incredible game-saving blocks, rebounds, and dunks that 99% of the league could only dream of making.
I think this year's squad is a bit different than last year's now that their new additions after the Nene trade are starting to mesh, but more than anything, I see them as a match-up nightmare for teams that rely heavily on their great frontcourts or creating offense around the rim. If they get in a #4/5 match-up with the Clippers, Grizzlies, or Spurs, I can see them pulling the upset. The Clippers are a bit of an exception because they have such a great perimeter game and great shooters, but once you neutralize Blake and co. in the post and don't allow any offensive boards, that becomes a whole 'nother series.
My point is suck my dick, Mick
The Knicka have had a slew of injuries and are still second in the East. When mostly healthy, they blew out the Heat twice. Meanwhile, the Nuggets are garbage. We beat them without all our guys.
Haha Nuggets will be lucky to get the 8th seed. They won't be anywhere near the 5th seed.
Oh dear. Where to start?
First of all, I'm not even talking about Amare or even Shumpert (don't forget him) when talking about injuries for the Knicks. I'm talking about Melo, Sheed, and now Felton. And still, the Knicks are 21-9, better than 5th in the West. So your argument there is garbage.
What the fuck does it matter what ESPN Magazine projected anyone?Second of all, most analysts picked the Nuggets to finish high in the standings.
How about starting by actually addressing the way the teams play instead of just quoting records like a stat geek.Oh dear. Where to start?
Learn the game, then post.
Felton? He's only missed two games so far, and they're 1-1 in that stretch, barely beat the Phoenix Suns and lost to the Sacramento fuckin Kings. You realize that hurts your point, right?
During Linsanity, it was Shumpert who locked up the opposing PG and they ran off like 7 or 8 wins in a row. He can also hit the long ball.Shumpert? Have you ever watched Shumpert play? Giving Shumpert the reigns of the team is like giving a mentally challenged kid the keys to a sports car. I can't think of a starting point guard in the league who's more of a detriment to their franchise than Shumpert.
How many Western teams have had to play the defending champs twice this season? And how many of them blew out the defending champions both times? I rest my case.As for the record, you do realize that teams play teams from their conference roughly twice as much as they play teams from the opposing conference, right? If the Knicks played out West, they would not have the record that they have in the East.
YOU were the one who said analysts don't think of Denver of as big of a threat as you believe they are. I pointed to ESPN Magazine as one of MANY analysts who picked Denver to finish higher than they are. What the fuck does it matter what ESPN Magazine projected anyone?
YOU were the one who said the Nuggets were three games over .500, Mr stat Geek! You were ALL OVER the stats. 22 games on the road, 9-1 at home, blah blah blah. PLEASE learn the game before posting. How about starting by actually addressing the way the teams play instead of just quoting records like a stat geek.
I had a lot to say. And it was all 100% TRUE.Do you have anything to say other than "Knicks are awesome!" and "Nuggets are trash!" without backing any of that shit up?
Rasheed, Felton, and Melo all missed the game against the Kings. And yet, they rallied from a 27 point deficit and almost won the game. If they were healthy, they win easy and they're 22-8. That PROVES my point.
Shumpert is erratic. He's not built to be an NBA point guard, at least at this point. His decision making is laughable, and I'm not just talking about his poor FG% and turnovers. I'm saying that he even plays worse than those statistics, if you'd actually watch him play.During Linsanity, it was Shumpert who locked up the opposing PG and they ran off like 7 or 8 wins in a row. He can also hit the long ball.
You have to be a complete idiot to think that the Western teams don't have a harder grind than the Knicks. How many Western teams have had to play the defending champs twice this season? And how many of them blew out the defending champions both times? I rest my case.
The holes in your logic are gaping kid. So because ESPN Magazine (not ESPN, but "ESPN Magazine") made some bold prediction about the Nuggets to attract readership, that means that most analysts were high on Denver? That's not the case at all. In fact, J.A. Adande, who writes for ESPN Magazine, was embarrassed by that projection. The reality is that most analysts did not expect them do be doing as well as they are (and will eventually be) doing.YOU were the one who said analysts don't think of Denver of as big of a threat as you believe they are. When I reference stats, it's because it's something that's applicable to what's going on, and they're pertinent to the discussion. I don't just say stupid things like "THIS TEAM HAD A BETTER RECORD THAN THAT TEAM!" ... I bring in specifics. "Stat Geek" may have been a misuse of words... maybe "fantasy basketball geek?" Stats geek is too complimentary for someone who doesn't understand the statistics involved.YOU were the one who said the Nuggets were three games over .500, Mr stat Geek! You failed to address any of my real points. You failed to talk about either teams style of play. You also failed to think big picture. Overall, you failed to say anything.I had a lot to say. And it was all 100% TRUE.
No, your point was that they had this great record despite injury problems, whereas they were clearly only down two injured players this year who were both detriments to the team - Shumpert and Stoudemire, whereas Felton has only missed the past two games, and they've looked like clowns without him.
Shumpert is erratic. He's not built to be an NBA point guard, at least at this point. His decision making is laughable, and I'm not just talking about his poor FG% and turnovers. I'm saying that he even plays worse than those statistics, if you'd actually watch him play.

Beating the Miami heat twice is grounds for being a great team?
How about this...
The Grizzlies blew out the Knicks, they blew out the Heat, they blew out the Lakers, they blew out the Thunder in OKC, they have a better record, they play in the West, yet the Knicks still receive ten times the national media attention.
Not to mention, to the original point, that the Knicks' Heat wins really don't mean much when they're not facing the type of schedule the Nuggets have faced. You've still yet to address that one.

And by the way, cut out the "learn the game," bullshit. You're trying to be a flamer, and it ain't working.

repped
Blah blah blah. Now you're not even reading correctly. I was never talking about Shumpert or Amare. I was talking about injuries to the team they started the season with. Melo has missed a bunch of games, as had Sheed, and losing Felton for a couple games hurt as well. I was never talking about Amare or Shumpert. Read post #1280. Read it slowly so that you clearly understand what was posted.
No analyst picked Denver to be so low in the standings. Find me an NBA preview that picked Denver to be the 7th seed or worse. Go ahead. Check with J.A. Adande and get back to me. You'll be disappointed.
You claim to bring in specifics but your specifics are wrong. The Nuggets aren't three games over .500 and you saying it so won't make it happen.
Is beating the Heat signs of being a good team? Maybe not once. But when you do it TWICE and they are blowouts, it's time to take notice. The Knicks are one of the feel good stories of the year. If you actually watch their games, you'd know they play for each other in such an unselfish way. They love each other and they are having fun. I haven't seen a team have this much fun in a long time. And their good spirit is paying dividends. They have risen from the 8 seed last year to the 2 seed right now. Tyson Chandler is playing out of his mind. And Jason Kidd makes them better in so many ways that don't show up on the box score. They are essentially a better version of the 2011 NBA Champions. Both team's had Kidd at PG and Chandler at C,. Melo replaces Dirk. And then the Knicks have more depth when healthy. Again, I'm not talking about Amare/Shumpert. I'm talking about Sheed who was GREAT for them when he played.
