We need to nickname him Flash... Meyers Flash Leonard...

So we can do this when he goes on a tear:

Let's dump Meyers ... on our starting lineup.

Great bump, of course the CJ is horrible thread deserves another bump as well but I not going to do that as it is just beating a dead horse.

There's like 10 of these exact same threads, buncha genius scout types up in here. "Hes never going to figure it out, he just doesn't get it"

Dont quit your day jobs

What I would like to see is Leonard proving me wrong. I would love to feel stupid for ever thinking he was a waste of a player. I want to made held accountable for ever doubting the sheer awesomeness of Leonard!

Well, now's your chance!

Who would have thought that he would be the difference in a playoff game? For the good of the team, too!

To be honest, for the first 2 years, Leonard looked nothing like an NBA player. He was awkward, tentative, and had poor decision making ability. Obviously some kind of switch threw in his brain over last offseason, which is one reason why I think you can never count out a lottery pick, no matter how many years it takes them to become a servicable player. Yes, you can become frustrated with their lack of advancement/production, and perhaps even cut them loose because of it. I was firmly in that camp last year. He was a waste of a roster space. Thankfully, though, I'm not an NBA coach or management. They knew the kid had it in him, and were willing to be patient enough for it to blossom.

In a follow up with what I said about CJ last night, I think he has NBA talent. He will excel in spurts. But in my opinion he will top out his worth as a bench player. Yes, perhaps a 6th man. I just hate his "Hero Ball" game that can lose a game for a team just as easily as it can win one. I would love him to prove me wrong, though.

You call it hero ball and I call it smart basketball. Taking it to the rack instead of settling for jumpers all the time. We have needed someone like that on our team for far too long. If anyone plays Hero Ball it is Dame (not that I blame him, he is a hero).

CJ is the new kid on the block in the NBA...he's surprised teams a couple of times. Teams will figure out how to take him out of the game I fear. Stotts said he thought CJ overdribbled last night although he gambled and won at times. I hope he's a true sparkplug. His IQ is pretty high. I think he has a great upside but after the games in Memphis I'm not ready to crown him the savior of the Blazers quite yet.

Taking it to the rack on a 1 on 3 drive that just as often results in a turnover as a bucket isn't my idea of smart basketball. Now, if he learns to mix in passing out to a wide-open three point shooter, I will agree with you. But CJ just puts his head down and makes the possession all about him.

Hey I definitely admit to eating crow on this one. This kid has turned his game around and I love it.

Meyers did an incredible job of boxing out for CJ and Dame last night

He is young, I think he will learn. And it also results in getting a foul (even if you don't deserve it) which we could also use. We don't get to the line near as much as some other teams.

As I said, I would take that over players jacking up shots that aren't in the flow of the offense anyday.

Attack Attack Attack. We have not seen enough of it in the last few years on a fast break. So although I agree he could have made a better decision on a couple of them, I like that he is being aggressive.

And if it truly is a 1 on 3, then is there anyone even there to pass to? Our fast break offense does need a lot of work though.

You misspelled "Jerryd Bayless".

Meyers is honestly the goofiest guy I've ever seen in the NBA.

Bayless seems to be doing just fine in milwaukie.

I never understood how much hate that got received for where he was drafted and how much he was paid

That Leonard kid is looking great! Bigs typically always take more time to develop. Meyers is earning himself a lot of money next summer. I'm thinking RoLo is disposable, especially if LMA bails to the Spurs.

What? PapaG is back? Welcome back, FAMS!

That being said..... proud to say I've been a Meyers fan from the beginning, though there were times he tested my faith.

I'm sure I'll be booted soon enough. The time away was good. Just checking in. What a win last night! I was at the game. Tickets were dirt cheap outside the RG.
