I think Portland is going back to Miami to give them an opportunity to match/beat Toronto's offer.

When is Portland's media day? That is essentially the deadline.

I think Monday. But I bet if the deal is close and talks are on going they will agree that he does not have to show up. Hoping I’m wrong though and this is resolved before then.

The acquiring team will want Dame to show up for media day, so it will get done before then. Portland just has to put a clock on Miami and ask them to beat Toronto's offer. Then they can return to Toronto and ask them if they want to beat Miami's offer. This should be wrapped up soon, imo. Give Dame a day or two to process and then check out his new home.

I looked up his other posts and he seems to have a very good handle of the Front office situation. I have to 100% believe that Joe would go back to Miami and ask them to beat the offer. If they don't, then it's a much easier sell to Dame where you can legitimately tell him we gave Miami every opportunity to show us they wanted to have you.... but they weren't willing to negotiate in good faith.

I'm guessing we'll hear something official tomorrow.

It's not bad, but it's not like they are offering Barnes. I don't necessarily think that's a "jump on it" deal. Plus isn't Achiuwa unavailable until the 10th of October or something?

i mean... really the only thing that makes it palatable is the Nurk for Ayton swap that apparently is coming with it.

For me, a Dame for OG + parts deal hinges on what those parts are. If Dick and Achiuwa also come along (plus picks), then it's not shabby. Better than Miami's best offer across the board.
