guessing that was the first thing they did. still unsure how those talks could have gone. we certainly have shown that we (over)pay our FAs. but given the uncertainty of our direction, probably not much concrete can be guaranteed even in a wink-wink affair.get caa on the phone and talk about his temperature re-signing in portland.
We'll know if it happens by tonight... because yeah, I think Portland would be all over it. Or maybe they'd give Miami a chance to get serious first...
Possibly Toppin or Alexandre SarrI'm trying to think who would be an ideal and realistic fit at PF if we decided to ship out Grant which I don't think is a certainty by any means in the immediate.
Portland players get paid. Put a range on a piece of paper and put it in an envelope. Portland is going over the top of that, most likely.guessing that was the first thing they did. still unsure how those talks could have gone. we certainly have shown that we (over)pay our FAs. but given the uncertainty of our direction, probably not much concrete can be guaranteed even in a wink-wink affair.
as i said earlier, i'd have a lot more confidence in him sticking around if he was still with Klutch.
And then they tell two friends and they tell two friends...When miami beats toronto we go back to toronto and give them a chance to beat miami
I think getting a pick is the difference between getting Ayton and not. I could see jones asking for one (even though he isn’t worth it).I agree with you, but that's what I heard. Maybe the picks are the sticking point.
Is it true OG is extension-eligible for 4 years/$116.9m on 10/1? Can OG be both extended and traded?
If this trade happens after 10/1 where we have an extended OG, okay…I’ll give it to ya’ll. I’d be fine with OG on the team.
Yes, I'm sure Jody is excited about Dick and picks, whether OG or Young, Precious, and Christian. I doubt she's particularly choosy.Well it looks like Jody Allen may be excited about OG Dick and pics
she tried to get bones (hyland) but no dice.Yes, I'm sure Jody is excited about Dick and picks, whether OG or Young, Precious, and Christian. I doubt she's particularly choosy.
I think that OG will go to a fourth team, that team will send us some of that value, that team will also send Phoenix some of that value and we'll end up with Ayton, 2/3 of OGs value, Dick, Precious and hopefully some draft capital from Toronto.
I'm really hoping that Toronto has given an offer and Joe is using that to negotiate with Miami only to turn around and let the Miami offer push Toronto's offer to a point where it's closer to equal value for Dame than Miami can offer while still keeping Bam and Jimmy. Then we take that offer from Toronto. I really hope that's what is going on right now but who could know such a thing.
That’s all we’re all doing until there is some cold hard reality. I both can’t wait for the reality of our immediate future and kind dread it.Indeed, like getting them to upgrade from OG to Scottie Barnes due to OG being more of a win-now type player with his 3-ball and experience. A guy can dream!
Agreed. Though, I do like the prospect of getting their picks after Jimmy amd Dame retire...Get serious and offer what? Miami's offer is shit no matter how you slice it.
Dude has a massive following but personally I think he just does these absurd reaction videos.wow...I don't know who that guy is, but his "perfect" trade for Toronto is:

yeah, Blazers should take that
question is, would the Blazers want Gradey Dick instead of one of those first's?
I have thought of that plan but I kind of thought giving us OG, Dick, Precious, Porter and Young could preserve some of those picks like lets say two of them and we might do it without the swaps and then they could trade Siakam, Barnes, two picks and swaps for Giannis.I also mentioned this earlier, that Toronto's masterplan is to add Dame first and then Giannis next.
This answers the question why they would trade for Dame. Many people criticize the move, saying it wouldn't make them a contender next season. But it sure gives them the best case for luring Giannis out of Milwaukee
On the flip side this is what free agency looks like in 2023. You put feelers out with a player on their temperature re-signing, you make them a priority during the season, you use their bird rights to outbid everyone.OG is UFA nxt summer, Toronto knows he will walk away for nothing. By making him centerpiece for a Dame trade, we are doing them a huge favor.
Handshake deals are dangerous. With Grant, it was for a late pick. This is Lillard we're talking about here.
Even though I and others keep telling you it can't/won't happen, you should just keep beating that Jarace Walker drum. Pull a Lavar Ball and speak it into existence.I think that OG will go to a fourth team, that team will send us some of that value, that team will also send Phoenix some of that value and we'll end up with Ayton, 2/3 of OGs value, Dick, Precious and hopefully some draft capital from Toronto.

Does anyone who's paid attention to the updated CBA know the salary implications of an OG-deal involving an (admittedly unlikely) extend-and-trade scenario? Would that have a significant impact on salary-matching?
