Trade Matisse to the Mavs now and get some return on him..th Mavs can be fleeced...it's proven!

So let’s say the Mavs do get a championship this year and/or maybe next year, would that justify making this a good trade?

Is Timelord still a no-go on back to backs? RWIII is the Portland Baseball of the NBA. Leverage only. No trade will happen.

Absolutely and I have no problem if they do. It would be fun to watch Lakers fans explode over it. I do think Dallas is just as good now as they were a month ago. Maybe even better. And short term the Lakers might even be worse this year because AD could have still dominated a playoff series offensively and defensively.

But long term it was still a steal for the Lakers.

I wonder if a part of this is the new Mavs owners wanting to prove they don't have to do something Cuban would do.

This makes no fucking sense from the Mavs end. I can maybe see that dumb Mavs GM who let Brunson walk deciding to do this trade.... But how the fuck does Mavs ownership approve it???

Well sure....but you think Kyrie and Davis can lead a team to a title with a 36 year old hobbled Klay as their best wing?

The Mavs are in the playin today - they might not even make the playoffs. How will the trade look then?

I feel like Thybulle and RW3 are gonna be traded, we don’t even play them. Where are the minutes gonna come from? I’d love Simons and Grant gone but I don’t see it.

Has Brooklyn indicated that he is available? He is locked into a deal for another 4 years that gradually goes down. Seems like a keeper but granted I have not seen one Nets game this year.

Isn’t Dalton a little repetitive on their team, couldn’t we use some shooting? I’m not a huge fan but…

LAL ain’t giving a frp for timelord. Not after they got luka for one

I think Reaves for Williams is fair. The salaries match 1 for 1. And Reaves has been wanted by other teams so we could flip him if we chose to.
Like someone else said, the Lakers are desperate for a defensive big right now.

Reaves is worth way more than Timelord lol. Probably the 2nd or 3rd most valuable Lakers asset after Luka and maybe Dalton.

Sure if the Lakers have another option to get a defensive-minded center. But what else do they have to offer? Vanderbilt and filler? We already have our Vanderbilt in Camara.

But if they are not going give us an FRP (and I doubt they will) then why take their trash back? We don't need to trade Williams. If he stays healthy he will be worth more than Austin Reeves next year. If he can't .......we let him walk.

Reaves is worth a lot more than rw

Reaves is worth a lot more than rw

Because he looked good next to LBJ and AD? You think if he was on the Blazers he would be worth as much? Maybe but I don't see him as a PG on many teams. And he is not better than Sharpe at SG
So to me, he is not worth that much. It all comes down to need. And what the Lakers need is a center.

Dalton/Luka/AR seem a little repetitive when you don’t have anyone on the roster that can defend the paint.

Seems to me that Dal could use some scoring (Ant) and LAL could use some Rim protection and Length (RW3). Now who can use Grant?

Well, they do have Kyrie and Clay ast guards, so if they were to take one of our high-salary players I think it would be Grant. Unfortunately, they just don't have the matching salaries unless they include PJ Washington. And as I recall he played well for them last year in the playoffs. So I can't see Dallas being an option for either of them.
