I gotta feeling the buyout guy isn’t gonna be Aldridge. I think there are other teams that can provide more minutes and I think there will be other guys that fit our needs better. Someone like Porter maybe? I would love to believe we’re just gonna hand minutes to Nas, but I just don’t think that’s gonna happen.

I think it would be Porter.

Gordon to Denver bugs the hell out of me. They were missing something when Grant/Craig left, now they got a better player back in return for a guy in Harris who was absolute trash this year.

And he made a ton of sense long term.

Whether he is 6'3 or 6'4 or 6' 5..... he is 215 pounds with a 6'11 wingspan. What other scorer do we have like that?

That wasn't the point. The need is so much more in the front court than in the backcourt. Sure he has wingspan (which I love) but he is still small and if he has to guard legit SF's and inevitably, switch onto 4's and 5's because we switch everything, he will be at a distinct disadvantage.

He does some things I really like....but the need is much more so in the front court.

Maybe (hopefully) that gets addressed in the buyout market. But as of now, the only thing we are a favorite for is the 6'3" and under YMCA League Championship.

Imagine Trent becomes Jermaine O’Neil and we got Powell as Dale Davis

I don't get why Toronto traded him - was he demanding out?

He has a player option and would have left for nothing is likely what they were afraid of.
Marks thinks he will opt out here as well.

From what I read he is a UFA and wanting 20+M a year as a free agent this year. They weren't going to be able to afford him, not that the Blazers will either unless other moves are happening.

Trent isn't a star. He's most likely a solid starter. The guy is too one dimensional. He's just a shooter. He can't create his own shot. He can't drive. He's a spot-up shooter and that's it.

I woulda rather gave up GTJ for Markkanen or Gordon. I bet Powell leaves.

He likely will leave as Portland can't afford him just like they couldn't afford Trent Jr. Maybe he will fall in love with playing next to Dame and stay for a workable price or at least opt in next season for the 11 mil.
