... would not surprise me if Cashman resigns Todd Frazier but even though I admire his passion for the game I'd rather not see him back...gotta believe that either Andujar or someone else would provide just as much if not more production from 3B. I'd rather the Yanx take the money they'd pay Frazier and use it instead to nail down another pitching spot.

Yankees acquiring Jabari Blash from Padres for Headley and Mitchell as per Ken Rosenthal.

Pure salary dump which is fine. Jabari is 28 and useless. minor league or waiver material.

good point, rookies at 3rd and 2nd could be disatrous. I have no clue how much $$$ or years Frazier is looking for? Love his intensity, yet imo, he swings for the fences too often, and his b'avg has suffered. Odd thing with Frazier is his .222 B'avg but had a .365 OBP%. I'd take a .350 obp any day.

I hope he's not signed for more than a year or two, if that can happen....

Frazier will be 32 in february and rumored to be looking for 3 year deal. Made 12 mill last year and imo would be looking for that again which I think is more than what the yankees want to spend on a 3rd baseman not named machado. Torres gonna be the 2nd baseman and 3rd manned by rizutto until andujar ready which shouldn't be too long

Yankees eyeing Tigers Ace Michael Fulmer as Trade Target as per MLB.Com.

I like fullmer the best despite recent elbow surgery. (same that degrom had last year with good result

Ulnar nerve transposition surgery means doctors will move a nerve to a spot in Fulmer's elbow were it is less likely to be irritated. Fulmer has had issues with numbness and tingling in his fingers on and off all season. There is no structural damage in the elbow.

The 3-4 month recovery indicates Fulmer will be ready for spring, though with the Tigers rebuilding, it stands to reason they will be cautious with their prized young arm. The surgery and recovery will undoubtedly change his offseason workout routine to come degree, so Detroit could take is slow with Fulmer in camp and early in the regular season.

Mets right-hander Jacob deGrom had the same ulnar nerve transposition surgery last September, and he was ready in time for Spring Training and the regular season. He has a 3.63 ERA in 188 1/3 innings this season, though a rough last few starts have bloated his ERA. deGrom was sitting on a 3.21 ERA recently as August 14.

Fulmer, 24, went 10-12 with a 3.83 ERA in 164 2/3 innings this season. He was named AL Rookie of the Year last season after going 11-7 with a 3.06 ERA.

Im with you 59 with regards to todd frazier

Great job by cashman who after years of being a shithead has evolved into one of best gm's out there. Found a sucker, I mean taker for headley's whole salary. Believe unless dickbury is a total dickhead which his non trade they will be able to find a sucker to take him also paying half his salary. Wouldn't be surprised for right price if gardy gets moved also which clears left field for stanton and opens up dh spot for multiple guys when they need a rest. Also have guys like mckinney at triple a who can come up and contribute to the outfield. And in 2 years florial will be up here to man centerfield. Mets fans every time they see alderson at the meetings in his jasper the hobo outfit telling everyone he has no money must want to kill themselves. The yanks with a young hal steinbrenner fully engaged and with cashman putting his trade partner under a spell and then ripping them off are in very good hands right now and only going to get better. Ohhhhhhh Babyyyyyy!

Cardinals are favorites for landing Marcell Ozuna. Multiple Teams are pursuing Christian Yelich........come on Yankees get it done always liked Yelich.

Let's be clear, the performance of the baby bombers is what has enabled Cashman to be good gm this off season.

Otherwise he'd be gutting the farm for retreads again.

...Andujar may get a shot to man 3B but here's a thought...if the Yanx are even considering bringing back Todd Frazier who'd likely want a 3 year deal, why not just bring back Eduardo Nunez instead?

Don't call me Ed call me Eduardo....That's from The Honeymooners btw.

Yankees checking in on Royals Danny Duffy as per Joel Sherman.

Yankees are still in the hunt for Todd Frazier as per Bronx Bombers Beat.

...unless he's willing to play for free, or will take a ONE year deal, just say no. We already have enough "all or nothing" hitters already.

...Frazier, Judge, Stanton, Sanchez, and Bird average striking out 1 out of every 3-4 ABs.

Totus, Hes's been good for a few years now. He revamped the way they drafted, made some good international signings and got great returns for his relief pitching dumping of miller and chapman who he got back and also beltran. The farm is loaded now and thats no accident. Now he can use some of them to bring back some young starting pitching and the farm will still be loaded.

Carlos Mendoza will be Infield Coach as per Bronx Bombers Beat.

Boone said that The Yankees reached out to CC Sabathia.

The Yankees have expressed interest in Manny Machado as per Buster Olney.

...from what I've read, nearly everyone has asked about Machado...though he'd essentially be only a one year rental the O's would still be asking a ton for him.
...plus, I'd doubt if they'd trade him to another AL East team.

I see yanks trading for one of those young starting pitchers. They don't need machado right now and besides boras is not signing an extension and always takes his player to free agency. If yanks really want him then they could sign him as a free agent next year. If by some miracle trade ever happened you'd probably be talking a package of frazier and sheffield imo

...I can understand why the Yanx might want Machado but I don't understand why they'd want him for only one year while also paying a heavy price for what it would take to acquire him.

Twins announce 2 Year Deal for Michael Pineda as per Ken Rosenthal.

Yankees have discussed both LHP Patrick Corbin and 2B/3B Brandon Drury with the Diamondbacks.

Well aware of his track record, you are missing my point. He's the same Cashman he's always been. Smart but not sharo and never ever Shrewd. He was never as bad when he got flamed and he doesn't rate a love fest now.

He will always be mediocre, but the size of his wallet and check book give him opportunity to shine. These also provide opportunity for extreme folly. I mean lest we forget those that should not be named....ahole, brown, etc etc. Same Cashman.

Why he seems better is that the young talent and their performance have limited things Cashman can do if he wants to keep working in baseball. It's hard to congratulate a man for breathing because he wants to live, lol!

What I'm impressed by is the fact that Jeter did the sound business move where one could expect the temptation to serve some cold revenge. However he's always been a class act and we can expect that to continue in Miami. Dumbfounded that Miami trolls think this was a 2003 revenge move.

When derek was with the yankees he always said the right things and had the right optics and eventually he probably will as well with the marlins. His problems thus far there were with some of the people he clumsily let go, the letting go of a scout while being treated for cancer and the botching of the stanton deal (by that I mean how it was handled) not talking to stanton when he became owner and especially not sitting down with him beforehand to discus with him where he would accept going since he had a no trade clause. Instead his inexperience as a management person led him to waste time and make trades with the cardinals and giants which were fruitless cause stanton had no intention of going to either place. In the end he got 4 teams stanton would agree to go to and had to make a deal with the team he least wanted to make a deal with the yankees as the prospects offered were negligible the yanks paid the most on stanton contracts which I think was the major goal. Derek has always been someone seen and not heard which allowed him to have the great reputation he always had with the yanks. I think as he's learning in his new role he'll figure it out sooner than later and also eventually have the same kind of success with the marlins he had with the yanks.

...I will add that much of the reason why Cashman was able to acquire all those prospects last year was out of necessity because the team was floundering due in very large part to the bad moves/trades/acquisitions he had made in the past...I'm happy that most of his more recent moves seem to have panned out but I cannot give him a pass for all those years of past failure and mediocrity.
