Have you ever seen the Netflix TV Show (in its 4th season now),"House of Cards"??? I just discovered it, a month or so ago....good stuff, begins similar to "Hewitts work", at "The Washington Herald Examiner"... a Politico roller coaster ride of a story, ...and show of suspense ...

Interesting - so now the narrative is Trump never really wanted to be President? Okay, I guess that's good news for all the people who think he will destroy America if ever elected.
I wouldn't worry about it- the fix has been in for months now, and the RNC will kidnap (lol) Trump if they have to in order to stop him from getting the nomination.
The Republican Party as we know it- or the way THEY want it is on it's way out with future aspirations to win the White House -imho.

By the way - some may find this news interesting and important:
Today, Trump has turned it up a bit by calling on Kasich to drop out of the race - he says Kasich is only in this race AT THIS POINT to take votes away from him (Trump).....and IMO, I think Trump is right. He went on to say, Kasich can still potentially be selected as the Nominee (at the Convention) even if he were to drop out.
I agree on Trump's point that the majority of Kasich's votes would go to him ....and IMHO whoever thinks the majority of Kasich's votes would go to the ultra conservative Cruz instead of Trump should put the crack pipe down and stop hanging around with the Tooth Fairy.

Of course Kasich will remain in the race and tell Trump to go jump in a lake...lol, after all, at this point Kasich is an integral part of the RNC's operation to prevent Trump from getting the 1237 delegates.
(as if "we" didn't already know)

Now the question:
Why would Trump, who is planning his exit strategy, and afraid to run against Cruz head to head call on Kasich to drop out of the race?

A couple of thoughts on Cruz and Trump -
imo- Cruz is farther to the right than Hillary is to the left, comprende?

Far right-wing, rigid, inflexible......now dig deep into that fertil mind and dredge up some results and possibilities past and present which can result from those attributes.

Trump? Very simple for starters, his primary and main policies center around literally building a physical boundary to better secure a wide open border which is STILL a revolving door for millions of unchecked, unknown persons and a limitless supply of hardcore drugs and cartel operatives.
Another one of his favorites is to correct and improve (obvious well known) poor trade deals and costly deficit economic results by ending the business as usual idiocy of U.S. Govt representatives being taken to the cleaners by all of those wonderful "sane, responsible well spoken" friendly foreign govt negotiators.

Two more positions where Trump is all aboard:
Safeguard the 1st and 2nd amendments.....and I'm sure we're all aware Trump doesn't mind excercizing his 1st amendment right....and please don't embarrass yourself by saying "President" Trump would call out the jackbooters and drag away all those who disagree with him.....lmao, even an idiot like Trump (lol) would consult advisors and constitutional lawyers.

However, YOU seem to be the one with the biggest problem with a candidate excercizing HIS 1st Amendment right.

If Trump is offending people and putting his foot in his mouth, then he'll get rejected. Simple enough.

When the word gets out openly and widespread to the people about how Cruz in coordination with the RNC is trying to steal delegates away from Trump in two states (Arizona and Louisianna) which Trump won, it's only going to sink the Republican Party deeper and help Trump.
And don't be surprised if we find out about more of this disgusting practice by the Republican Party machine of literally trying to steal the nomination away from Trump AS HE CONTINUES TO MAINTAIN A LARGE LEAD in States won, the popular vote, and delegates.

Evidently, contrary to a couple of opinions on this board (what else is new?), there are millions of people who trust Trump WILL legally do the right things and try and put forth policies which will seriously address the 20 trillion deficit, protect and help American Companies, end the ongoing national suicide of making bad trade deals, treaties and policies which are one-way streets with America and it's "workers" getting screwed.

Maybe, perhaps, possibly, there are a few people out there who think Trump is the only billionaire, real estate developer, builder and businessman who has used the system, used hard scrabble tactics in his dealings with others from the same landscape.

The difference is Trump is the one with balls, speaking his mind, telling the PC crowd he isn't afraid..... and running for President.

Time for some to step out of Candy Land and REALLY face the cold hard world. The RNC is probably going to use tactics and "rules" which have been unprecedented in modern American history to oust Trump....and do you know why(?).....because they will be out of business if Trump wins! Trump is THE biggest most successful (up to this point) populist candidate in modern American history.....

Cruz has suddenly become the darling of the RNC, he's out there trying to hijack delegates from those who dropped out AND from states which Trump won.....Cruz is NOW the mainstream RNC candidate- doesn't that tell you something? And by the way- it's time for Kasich to end the charade and take a hike- but he won't/can't, he's part of the RNC coup against Trump.


The people aren't going to be happy when they see "their" populist LARGE VOTE GETTER get screwed over.
And Trump has gotten many MORE votes than Cruz.....that's the FACT!

hey now i'd like a little credit for saying I thought Trump was going to blow this on purpose. now my original premise was that Cruz was using Trump to take out the opposition, but they turned on each other when Trump didn't take the dive in the 5th.

Lol, the difference is Obama got the benefit of the doubt because he WAS a well spoken candidate, an African American and many moderates, Independents, of course TONS of minorities, every liberal, vast majority of big labor unions (yes they do exist) and probably a handful of centrist Republicans felt he was the one to take a flyer on as the first African American President.

But, of course there WERE plenty of voters from the center and right who "already knew" a minority candidate from the DEMOCRAT PARTY will eventually take off the costume and lean left and govern accordingly.
Say what you may about Trump, but IMO he may not be a hardcore conservative (which is alright with me), but he certainly is anti-left and will lean more to the center-right.

Maybe this is what the Republican party has been lacking instead of the usual parade of candidates trying to out-conservative each other with the same stale mantras while the deficit kept growing, millions of illegals invading the country, American businesses NOT being convinced or obliged to keep their companies stateside. We know about the Democrat Party being firmly taken over by the leftwing base, but it has been the so-called opposition party Republicans which has fiddled the past couple of decades while American has slipped closer to being a large mishmash lower standard, debt riddled nation of "diversity".

And Matt, in all seriousness, if the RNC pulls out all the stops and enact numerous rule changes during the Convention to put in some other person who has already been whipped by Trump or some other new guy as their nominee instead of the candidate (Trump) who has the LARGE lead in delegates and popular votes, there will be a revolt unseen before in the general election in Nov by the "people" who will turn off their TVs, stay home and send the RNC a resounding message and the GOP Nominee will get clobbered.....poor guy or gal will look like a puppet joke.

Can't change the RNC Convention "rules"..... but I have an inkling many many people will say RNC rules be dammed, we want to see Trump get the chance to campaign directly vs Hillary in the months leading up to the November election.

THAT's what the people want to see....imho.

Eisenhower had 595 delegates out of 1206 in the first roll call, of the RNC in 1952...
