...^^^yeah, I brought that up a little earlier...it's somewhat of a head scratcher...somehow "Egypt, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Indonesia and Afghanistan" were left off the list...if there's a legit reason why, I don't see it.

...I understand what Trump is wanting to do but I think his EO was hastily written which is why it was overturned and so he'll probably go a different but similar route.

...btw, the next time there is a terrorist attack by a Muslim in the US (and I'm sure there will be eventually) Trump and his cronies will claim that they came to the US only after his EO was issued...this will surely be one of his future "I told you so" Tweets, whether it's factual or not.

...book it.

I can just see too well: Donald swoops in with his "I told you so" Tweets. I think if the job of Superman was open, he'd apply for it.

I watched a Mexican TV station last night, with numerous journalists tearing the shit out of Trump's Border Wall. The Padres must of laughed hysterically non-stop for ten minutes. When one stated, "someone needs to open his head and see what's inside, because he wasn't told, and doesn't know 40% us got here on airplanes".... I don't know that to be a fact or fiction. Some would quickly jump to claim fiction simply based on the low low income of the mexican populace; yet some thought is required, albeit the pctg's variance in reality regardless, airplanes and future illegal re-entry will still present a problem. Whatever is done, the mexican's who have nothing to lose but their lives, and have no problem giving their lives for american freedom, is not a deterrent enough to ever stem the tidal flows.

^^^ :twothumbs: another Trump knee jerk kicked back, hastily put together memo in lieu of legal documents, did trump fill out a business memorandum, instead of an Executive Order...?
He and his cronies, whom imo are revealing how inept they are need to slow down, hire someone with knowledge of how government runs, not how they'd want it to run from Goldman Sachs, or Chevron, then perhaps we'd stand a chance. But not as long as his admin can't demonstrate his choice of countries (Refernce- **)

** "In the past four decades, 3024 people have been killed by foreign terrorists on US soil. The September 11 attacks, perpetrated by citizens of Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Egypt and Lebanon, account for 98.6 per cent of those deaths. None of those countries are on Mr Trump’s list."

^^^^ well stated, the very best thing Trump can do, right now to get the show on the road, is toss the Twitter completely. He's using his Tweets (like you said, titling his hand), with a neurotic like itchy trigger finger for a multi-media net based diary.... formally exposing his thoughts, dislikes, before he get's any kind of input or briefing on any subject matter. Very un-presidential like hogwash. For a formal businessman, whose got to keep his cards close to his chest, seems like he shows his hand, becomes offensive, creates a global scene to the very press he swears he disdains most of, picking and choosing who he likes this week or not....This guy is a real monster, makes me wonder how long he can keep up his torrid pace, without his health failing, or his toupee rugs getting shedding baldness disease....
I agree as well. The twits are his idiot's guide to the universe. How can diplomacy operate in a theater of this ridiculous magnitude? 4906622c5828a6c0427d8f967c6f44b0.jpg

DAY 20: Secret Service Adds Emotional Protection Division To Safeguard Trump’s Psyche
600.jpg

WASHINGTON—In an effort to respond to the vast and ever-changing dangers faced by the nation’s commander-in-chief, Secret Service administrators announced Wednesday the creation of an Emotional Protection Division to safeguard President Donald Trump’s psyche.

The new unit’s three dozen agents, who have undergone rigorous training to prepare for their challenging role, will be charged with defending the 45th president’s psychological well-being around the clock, investigating foreign and domestic threats to his self-esteem and quickly intercepting any spoken or written criticisms before they can harm his pride.

“After conducting a full review of the operational procedures available to us, it became clear that adding this new division was the only way to meet President Trump’s emotional security needs,” said Secret Service director Joseph Clancy, noting that the president’s detail is specially trained in assessing risks and minimizing any opportunity for him to feel insecure or belittled. “His psyche could be put in grave danger from unfavorable poll numbers or suddenly come under attack from a White House press corps heavily armed with uncomfortable questions.”

“All of our agents stand ready to lay down their lives to ensure nothing can hurt President Trump’s feelings,” he added.

According to officials, the Secret Service is reportedly conducting careful background checks on White House visitors to look for any red flags, such as A-list celebrities who might choose to decline a photo op with Trump. The department has also instituted measures to screen the president’s mail for messages that do not reinforce his belief in his own superiority, and to sweep any room before he enters to remove high-risk copies of The New York Times and The Washington Post.

High-ranking agency sources told reporters that their tireless efforts have already made the president’s psyche significantly more secure. In particular, they cited occasions in which agents have shielded Trump against credible attempts on his vanity, saying they have kept him away from photographs on the internet in which he appears in an unflattering light and from news reports indicating that some television programs have garnered higher ratings simply by mocking him.

“We’ve already had one really close call,” said Clancy, citing an incident in which a member of the Secret Service jumped directly in front of Trump to prevent him from seeing primetime news coverage of massive rallies held to protest his administration. “But the moment we detected a risk, a few brave agents rushed in to surround the president and place their hands over his ears, safely ushering him into his motorcade before he could hear more than a few words of criticism.”

“The president was then immediately taken to a secure location where he was evaluated for any injury to his self-importance,” Clancy continued.

While acknowledging the assignment’s significance, several agents bemoaned the difficulty of keeping a vigilant eye upon the constantly evolving risks to Trump’s feelings, observing that whenever the president travels, the Secret Service must vet his destination days or even weeks in advance to ensure it is free of anything that could pose any risk of offense.

“It’s incredibly demanding work because his ego is such a big target,” said Roger Mercer, 36, an agent in the Emotional Protection Division. “There are new threats emerging every hour, and if even one of them gets through to him—really gets through to him—it’s all over.”

“I can already tell the next four years are going to be the hardest of my career,” he added.

DAY 18: Mike Pence Disappointed God Has Never Asked Him To Kill One Of Own Children
600.jpg

WASHINGTON—Saying he would surely rise to the occasion if tasked by the Almighty with the ultimate test of faith, Vice President Mike Pence said Monday that he was disappointed that God has never called upon him to kill one of his own children. “It’s just heartbreaking that the Lord hasn’t summoned me once to show my dedication to Him by sacrificing one of my precious kids,” said Pence, telling reporters that he has spent years waiting for any sign at all from the Heavenly Father that he should ritually slaughter one of his three children. “They’re grown now, so I’m starting to think I’ll never get the chance to offer the blood of any of them to prove my unshakable devotion. Heck, I’d put all three on an altar if that’s what He wanted.” Pence added that he would nevertheless keep a sharp dagger at the ready in the unlikely event God someday asks him to kill one of his grandchildren.

WASHINGTON—Activating the reserve military forces to assist in the urgent mission, President Donald Trump reportedly deployed the National Guard to a press conference Tuesday in order to provide him with a standing ovation. “We received orders from the commander-in-chief at approximately 0600 hours to mobilize all available units in the D.C. area to the White House press briefing room, where personnel were instructed to supply a thunderous round of applause at the conclusion of President Trump’s prepared statements,” said Chief of the National Guard Gen. Joseph Lengyel, noting that hundreds of reserve troops had been directed to clap and cheer after Trump spoke on such hot-button issues as the economy and his relationship with the press. “The National Guard is prepared to swiftly respond to the president’s need for vocal adulation. We’ve got boots on the ground in cities across the U.S. to answer the call for ovations at rallies, diplomatic meetings, treaty negotiations, and all other manner of official appearances.” At press time, dozens of troops had been marshaled to chant the president’s name as he signed executive orders dismantling the Affordable Care Act.

...the Devos appointment makes absolutely no sense...I have as much experience with our education system as she does...she did not attend a public school, her children never attended publics schools and she has no school system experience...brilliant !

WASHINGTON—Saying his new role seemed “way more interesting” than his usual menial office gigs, temp worker Jon Barder told reporters Monday that he was really looking forward to starting his first day as secretary of agriculture. “All I really know from the ad is that I’m in charge of farming for the entire country or something,” said Barder, 22, who will oversee the approximately $140 billion executive department for the duration of his five-day assignment. “But I sure can’t complain about $14 an hour, especially since it looks like no one’s going to be looking over my shoulder and I can just text or whatever. I mean, if it goes well, maybe it’ll turn into a longer-term thing, though I can’t imagine anyone doing this for more than a few months.” At press time, Barder was loitering outside the White House in search of someone to sign his time sheet.

Trump Claims Waterboarding Doesn’t Come Close To The Excruciating Torment He Experiences At Every Moment

960.jpg

NEWS IN BRIEF January 26, 2017
Vol 53 Issue 03 Politics · War · Politicians · Donald Trump

WASHINGTON—Dismissing concerns that the controversial interrogation method constituted torture, President Donald Trump told reporters Thursday that waterboarding does not even come close to the excruciating torment he himself experiences at every waking moment. “Prisoners who are forced to endure a few hours of simulated drowning hardly experience the unrelenting horror that tears at my psyche night and day,” said Trump, adding that being strapped to a chair in a filthy concrete cell and repeatedly suffocated was a “stroll in the park” compared to the cruel and inhuman anguish his mind is subjected to literally every single second. “What is having gallons of water forced into your lungs compared to the nightmare that has never once released its grip on me? Waterboarding only brings a prisoner to the brink of death. I die a thousand times a day.” Trump went on to say that unlike the victims of the brutal interrogation technique, he was relentlessly tormented by the miserable fact that he deserved everything that was happening to him.

^^^^^and who really believes such bullshit? OMG, get off your f'king pedestal of
suffering. Gross. He does not know what reall suffering is!

...Matts, as usual, it's about money, $11.6 Mil to be exact...this should tell you all you need to know as far as why 6 of Trump's appointees, including Devos, were given jobs.

^^^ good, rather disgusting read. Cronyism, is worse than nepotism, in most cases, imo.

I had forgot about Devos, and the Swamp Rats Trump gave financial refuge to, until I saw Linda McMahon's name. Trump is all about filling his cronies pockets, the one major knock on G.W. Bush, same bad message/example to the American middle class hard workers. Corrupt governments are simply corrupt individuals who take care of each other, not much different than the mob splitting up districts among paisanos.

Much of Trump's moves, decisions, awards, with his blurring of the line between: business turned politics; will lead to conflicts of interest. Like G.W. ,most never added 1+1, when a nation elects an oil tycoon, with oil tycoon buddy clubs.

Cronyism in politics, where a potus does favors for those who gave $$$, a man whose blinded by $$$$. Favors for $$$; and $$$$ for favors and jobs too- (the definition of Le Cosa Nostra's businesses; yep- dividing up commerce districts amongst paisanos).

When Donald J Trump gets a sense of humor, we'll all be better off. Meanwhile, SNL fills the bill...................

In his press conference before his election, Alec Baldwin states, ".....I'm about to be president. We're all going to die."
Hilarious.

Must see. Laughter makes it very clear how insane the White House is.

Very interesting travel differences between Obama and Trump administrations.

Obama, lines for foreign passport holders moved faster than US passport holders. US holders went through 2 screenings and then back into general TSA security to re enter airport. Typically took 90-120 min.

Trump, US lines fast, foreigner lines slow. Single customs screen, then into TSA precheck fast track line. Total of 30 minutes.

Oh and for the first time had a border agent smile and welcome me home. I said thanks, is that new SOP to which he replied, yup.

Interpret as you will, but others noticed and the general buzz was that this was a welcomed change.

...Tote, rather than have a rather lengthly court battle over getting his EO reinstated I really don't see why Trump doesn't simply take a different route in order to reach his goal of making us safer against possible terrorism as well as curbing illegal immigration.

...and oh, Mike Flynn should be cut loose...Kellyanne Conway too for that matter. Trump has made some good choices as far as some of his cabinet picks and other appointees as well as his pick for the SC...but he's enlisted some stinkers too.

^^^^It did not take long before The Donald said, "You're fired!"............and the situation at Mar a Lago
is just ridiculous.

You can bet that there will be more to come.

...now SNL is doing parodies on on Sean Spicer;

I about liked to choke on my cheetos saturday night; and again now, make that twice...

is it just me, or does Spicer look like he's proof the 'Peter Principle' is 400% Legit...

definitely appears, and sounds to be in over his head. Spicer looks like the wanna' be bully on the playground, the one who is first to pick on someone, and first to get his ass kicked....

just as soon as CNN corner's him with fake news.... and he tries to ignore the entire press; choosing to call on pseudo reporters/people; only he see's in the crowd...
