OT ...Trump...beginning of the end?

...while I agree with some of what he's done thus far, I just wish he'd cut back on some of the needless rhetoric and twitter crap and stop tipping his hand...I'd much prefer a lower key version of Trump.

...Trump 2.0 ?...lol

Which "snowflakes"?...you mean the ones protesting over Trump's immigration/refugee order ?
Those snowflakes that don't understand that constitutional rights do not apply to prospective immigrants nor do they understand that the presidential powers include regulating immigration criteria.

8 years off from protesting....These people better paces themselves, lol.

...sorry, Tote, but that statement is only partially true. (1965 update to the Immigration and Naturalization Act)

...fwiw, this not to say that I don't understand what Trump's intent and goal is, because I do.

This is problem, media is conflating the order which parallels Obama's six month ban on travel from Iraq back in his first term. Roll out and implementation of the order was hamfisted for sure. But prospective refugees & immigrants have no constitutional rights. Understand the position of the left is to extend rights to those that aren't citizens, while trying to strip other rights from those that have them.

...by no means supporting Obama, but his action was completely different than Trump's.

...and actually the Constitution does in fact provide for immigrants and it's part of the coming pissing contest between the judicial, legislative, and executive branches of our government...sorry, but Trump's executive immigration powers are limited and are not absolute and he does not have the final say...this is why the have seen judges already resorting to blocking Trump's orders. This completely contradicts the author's assessment in the link you provided...so Mr. McCarthy's claim is not entirely accurate.

If you can't accept one of the best legal minds than there is no point to discuss further.

Never thought I'd see your Trump hate have you taking Obama's side. Looks like your liberal transformation is complete.

...Jesus tap dancing Christ, Tote...I take the side of truth and facts, no matter what the topic is.

...I presented facts while you presented someone's opinion...McCarthy is no longer a judge, period and his opinion is just that, opinion. You claim he is one of the best legal minds only because you dug up a link supporting your stance. Like I said, I can do the same and I can play this game and copy and paste links....is that what you want? If you'll take the time to look, I've already said I like some of the things Trump is doing, but I'm just not crazy about how he's going about doing some of it...so according to you, that makes me "a liberal"?
...and exactly how is again stating facts about Obama's immigrant ruling make me a "liberal"?...do you even read what I say?...here, try it again;..."by no means supporting Obama, but his action was completely different than Trump's."....that's not "taking sides", that's stating fact...can you disprove that statement or not?

...now, again, if you can offer something "factual" for a change, by all means present it and we'll go from there.

Although I don't follow politics, the classic Jesus tap dancing Christ is a classic. :biglaugh:

...evidently the Dems still can't accept the fact that their side lost and the GOP won the election...and this sort of mindless crap is why so many of us have such a low opinion of Congress and our government in general;

...^^^also check out the video in the above link with Jeff Sessions grilling recently fired AG Sally Yates... I found it very interesting, as well as ironic.

sorry Ron, but I'm only going to consider legal sources based on strict constructionist constitutional interpretations. So anything you have that's been washed through the cnn, msnbc, reuters, ap, bloomberg, mother jones, aclu, etc etc etc progressive liberal agenda washing machine is just a non-starter for me. 2017 is in the midst of an ideological civil war and there is no neutrality.

where we really need to be focused, and i'm in full agreement with folks like Sen Mike Lee from Utah, is to recapture the power of the legislature branch so that the excutive branch no longer has all of this unchecked power. what i'm hopeful for is that once we get to a stage of pulling back all of the obama, bush, clinton, bush and even reagan executive orders, we would to have congress pass legislation (including constitutional amendment) to restrain the use of EO's by POTUS. this is going to have to coincide with significant reduction of the size of the federal govt and transition of power to the states.

that all said, id like to see follow up by congress to codify many of the EO's Trump is penning. we are way easy to doling out refugee status, visas and green cards anyway. The purpose should be to create new Americans, and not purely for giving people another place to live and work.

...wow, just wow. Once again, instead of disputing facts you only dispute the source from which they came. Sorry, but The National Review leans decidedly to the right and has been through its own "washing machine"....but did I downplay the source itself?...No, instead I disputed only what McCarthy asserted...see the difference?

...like it or not, there are many people including Republicans that believe that Trump's order may actually be seen as unconstitutional...and like I said all 3 branches of the government are on a collision course.

...you are the same person who earlier suggested that I should " consider that there are alternative interpretations to what you have settled upon in your mind"...you might try taking your own advice, just a thought...but to you, in order for any outlet to be credible and unbiased, it must be cleared with you first?...check.

...should I genuflect as I leave?

^^^^ ironic hypocrisy, or another Trump "yes man" regardless of the law...
good stuff on the Hypocrite Sessions, the one nominee I disdain more than the others. Session's will take us into the dark ages, ....

Mr. Sessions, take a look in the mirror sir, and- "pot meet kettle"

now do something legit for the American people, retire -

Oh I read the leftist drivel, how better to recognize the scumbags and their talking points.

...pretty much what I thought...you refuse to take your own advise which you try to force on others...again, very compelling. And also once again, instead of supporting your stance with fact you instead attack only the source itself.
...making a broad and generalized statement does not by default make it true, but I'll ask once again, you don't think The National Review is biased?

...while the constitutionality of Trump's immigration ban is still being questioned, on the surface it seems to be incomplete or a half measure to me...I mean if he's gonna try to pull something like this off shouldn't there be other countries on the list?

... no Egypt, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, or Afghanistan... if the goal is to keep the US "safe", why not also include those countries in the ban? (take a look at where past terrorists have come from)

^^^lol...anyone notice Trump's hair has changed?...from orange to greyish blonde, shorter in the back and not as pointy in the front....looks much better.

...and sorry, but Jon Stewart's facial expressions can make me laugh without even saying a word;

^^^and only a "tard" would see left wing zombies behind every rock...what exactly is your problem lately?...it's just a fucking comedy skit.

...and like the SB halftime show, no one is forcing you to watch it.

^^^^^It's his way.........badger & belittle to prove he's top honcho, then ease up as if he's a nice guy!
Chaos is his way too. Just part of the whole picture. Obnoxious, crude, & swaggering > the real Donald.

..........It is what it is.

Tom, I really don't know your terminology for the word "tard". But, I find it derogatory &
offensive. The word is slang for a person with mental retardation. "Libtard" in your dictionary
would refer to leftists being retarded or in other words those who act stupidly. Not very humane
on your part. Why? Because people do not have be defined by inflammatory language for you to make
your point. BTW, I am no Libertarian, but I have been a teacher for the handicapped.

indeed his make-up and hairstylists is detoxing Donald from those 1,000 shades of orange, on his face and in his hair. Using the "distinguished white" in lieu of the sly fox orang-utang. Someone's got to make him look presidential or diplomatic since his own mouth, and twitter feeds don't....! Gone is the shark front, next will be a dorsal fin on top.....

^^^^ good stuff:
This may surprise you but whilst I’m not a fan of the way Mr Turnbull has been handling matters on this one I’ve got some sympathy for him because, quite bluntly, I don’t think you can run an American-Australian alliance by Twitter.

I do believe these same sentiments were declared here first, 1/2 a yr ago; these boards were/are being hacked by the RNC... Yanxboardgate...!

Tuck Frump....??? :biglaugh::biglaugh::lol: :lol: :prince:

...^^^ Matts, what's really troubling to me is that our government evidently has a very serious national security problem...like him or not, how can Trump get anything done if he's trying to do it by way of "Twitter Diplomacy"? ...for lack of a better term, Trump in a way is playing "a game of poker" and to win he really needs to hold his cards closer to his chest instead of showing them too quickly.
...It's hard for anyone to successfully negotiate anything when the other side already knows what you are thinking...I mean that's like being at war and telling your enemy ahead of time what your future moves are going to be.
...the other security problem Trump has is how are his supposed private phone conversations with other world leaders being leaked?...and who is leaking them?

^^^^ well stated, the very best thing Trump can do, right now to get the show on the road, is toss the Twitter completely. He's using his Tweets (like you said, titling his hand), with a neurotic like itchy trigger finger for a multi-media net based diary.... formally exposing his thoughts, dislikes, before he get's any kind of input or briefing on any subject matter. Very un-presidential like hogwash. For a formal businessman, whose got to keep his cards close to his chest, seems like he shows his hand, becomes offensive, creates a global scene to the very press he swears he disdains most of, picking and choosing who he likes this week or not....This guy is a real monster, makes me wonder how long he can keep up his torrid pace, without his health failing, or his toupee rugs getting shedding baldness disease....
