..."anti-tunneling technology"?...lol, yeah, Trump believes the same thing...but the fact remains that your "technology" is by no means full-proof, even engineers admit this...but you already knew that. right?...and wtf does Cali's wall have to do with the monstrosity that Trump is proposing?...California, yeah, there's a state that's financially in good shape. (rolls eyes)
...as far as comparing the Berlin wall, do you really think there will actually be armed guards posted on Trump's wall with orders to shoot to kill as they did in Berlin ?...and the Berlin wall was built to keep people in, not out.

...sorry, but again, wasting money that would be much better served used elsewhere on building a wall is just galactically stupid...changing the laws is fine and I'm all for that and even you have to admit that changing, enacting, and actually strictly enforcing immigration laws would be much more effective than a silly wall.

...if illegals are determined to sneak into this country, a wall certainly won't stop them.

...as far as your last comment about hating on Trump vs taking care of fellow Americans, the last time I checked that's the POTUS's job...do you seriously believe Comrade Combover is taking care of us?...this country is probably more divided now than it was during the Civil War.

technically its not a rewrite, its a return to former interpretation. Children born here under illegal or unnatural situations are in fact not naturalized. But Congress has to create that legislation, and the SC can uphold it (4-4 split before Gorsich). ANd as a Californian, I can affirm that our wall have drastically reduced the number of illegal aliens. Texas and Arizona see that and want it extended.

You mean staring down the barrel of an ICE AR-15 doesn't count? It's the wall? I'd like to see our Wall another 30 feet taller, ... - thunderdome...!

yep, policy's (laws) going to have to change things, something Trump's ineptness doesn't acccount for, ...

a 100 foot wall with a Mississippi for a Moat around it, filled with Gators, mines, isn't going to change the inflight of illegals anywhere...

We welcomed illegals into the US to help rebuild after Katrina/Rita, when most true blooded American's weren't to be found for the dirty nasty hard hot fkng work/jobs; and true they stayed, and really didn't displace jobs or peeps.

No one wanted those jobs, and most didn't return, as they had nothing to return too, and still couldn't afford a FEMA loan's low interest.

jobs to clean-up and rebuild..... more the clean up part. My Son still remains in Luzianna, and to my dismay is still a roofer. He's remained employed since katrina simply repairing roofs destroyed by Hurricane's and/or Tropical storms. Yeah, his co-workers the last 12 yrs have mostly been hispanic, and were predominantly good ol' southern red neck caucasians prior; those guys too fled....and never came back....

even tho' Trump sounds like he's got a vendetta against anything Mexican, there is a time and place for laborers, esp when most will not brave the ridiculous elements to get out and work in insane conditions, a Mexican will and does....(don't get me wrong, there still needs to be reform, just not this way, imo)...

You really didn't compare the Berlin wall to what would be required....the better comparison would be the great wall of china...this is all about his legacy...im going to build the greatest wall ever in man kind...this has nothing to do with immigration and every thing to do with EGO.

So we build the wall and put all sensors and mines and other things not actual guards...umm couldn't we just do that without the cost of building and maintain the wall?

The cost offset for southern border wall is easily covered by the drain on border state economies where services are provided to illegals. If you are a fiscal hawk than the wall is cheaper than no wall at all. That's been shown by many parties on all sides of the issue.

The Berlin Wall was a significant deterrence to illegal crossings. The intent was quite different, but walls don't know the politics they serve.

I don't see Trump on a legacy kick, yet anyway. He's a Builder, this is one issue where he doesn't need advisors. His tower in Manhattan is his legacy, as are the golf courses. Presidents all seem to get some sort of legacy regardless, not sure why he gets treated differently. As for his ego, I still think Obamas was much bigger.

Anyway, forcing DACA back to Congress was the right thing to do. Trump has quietly (in terms of media coverage) done quite a bit to reverse the damage to rule of law done by Obama and the Dems. He still has a ton of things to do but I'm grateful for not seeing a 3rd Obama term.

Critize style, but content wise he is doing some positive things. Do I wish the style and manner was different? Sure. But our govt has been making me cringe for at least the last 12 years, so I've become desensitized.

My biggest concern during the primaries has finally happened. The democrat Donald has emerged. Flip flop of DACA and now a deal with Chuck and Nancy....Talk about the Art if the Kneel.

Goldbergs NRO Gfile characterized Trump perfectly, he's a tic tac toe playing chicken.

...lmao...spit out my coffee when I read that, Tote..... Gotta write than one down.

...I think the Libs are playing a shrewd and concerted game of "divide and conquer" and Trump completely threw the GOP on it's neck...I also would not be surprised that this may drive a permanent wedge between Trump and what support he had from the Republicans as well as his base, and ultimately sound the death knell of Trump's administration.

last i checked, that little wall in berlin was incredibly effective in limiting immigration....but i digress. if you look at the "wall" plans, it includes anti tunneling technology as well as significant senors technologies that alleviate the need for manning the wall. in fact the "wall" isnt a wall in some terrain areas.

i note that you cant refute the effectiveness of the existing wall in CA. the construction of a barrier of any kind will serve as a significant deterrence. i totally agree that Congress has to pass comprehensive immigration reform, to reaffirm that we are in fact a nation of laws and that violations of US law will bear significant penalties. I've been a fan of the wall long before Trump ever glommed onto the concept, which he did because as a builder its one project that he could actually do. And I've been a fan ever since they finished it in San Diego county because the drop off in crime rates, especially car and apartment break ins dropped, and our property values grew faster due to less crime. Having known someone killed by an illegal alien its pretty easy to see that any deterrence is a worthy investment. this isn't about hating on trump, it should be about caring for fellow americans.

anyone disputing the need for reform, or the need for improved border security, albeit patrol, walls where none have existed, or some areas that might as well not have what they wan't to call a wall.

the currrent border in AZ, NM has entire areas without any deterrent, or barbed wire no diff than those keeping livestock in or out; also tall rickety walls on rocky up n down landscapes, improperly erected to begin with, where the wall partitions suddenly end, with nothing. Just walk a mile to the walls end, no need to climb or burrow.....

That being said, my point, any who dispute the need for reform should simply spend a week living in San Diego, much as Tote points out, or southern AZ, NM's rural areas.... however I'm not real confident on Trump's wall concept or vision, yet am not the best informed either. Sound's outlandish at times, wonder how long before there's a Trump Neon sign atop that infamous wall yet to be built....

everytime I've ever drove to San Diego or crossed the border, first thoughts were: wtf are those freeway signs with the drawing of a woman running with a child in tow, the Mom holding the childs hand, with the childs feet up in the air??? Those illegals must run awful fast, (DC's Flash)....??

Dirty little secret is that the GOP hates Trump as much as the left does. I just hope we have one more liberal supreme retire or check out before the next election so the Don has to toss red meat to his base and we secure the courts for a few generations.

I can't take credit for "Art of the Kneel" , thank Jonah Goldberg at NRO, the guy has not wavered in his opposition.

^^^ Jonah is a class act; close to first in pointing out Hannity's Man Crush with the Teflon Don.

Isn't this what Trump has always done best? Promise sweet deals and strong investment recomendations, or other opportunities to his cronies, constituent business partners; then leave 'em all high and dry often in debt due to his business decisions, flip n flop.... Had Hillary of been a GOP, Donald would of run as a Liberal, either way ya' cut it; he's a fraud fox in the hen house...

Politician he's not, and the entire GOP will probably suffer long term from his superpac election. Agreed on the SCOTUS....

LMFAO.....

"I believe in two things, the 1st amendment and boobs", "Yeah those are the only two things that have never let me down".... wtf - ???

My typical exchange with europeans these days.

oh you are from america. i love going to america.
me: cool, where are you going next?
oh i can't go now, not with trump as president, foreigners arent welcome.
me: ummmm just those that illegally move to usa, try to have anchor babies and terrorists. if you are only a tourist, not 9 months pregneant are not a jihadi, i think you are okay.
really? are you sure because thats what cnn, bbc and der speigel says.
me: facepalm

this should be interesting, Trump addressing the UN....

never in my wildest dreams (prior to the elections) could I envision Trump speaking to the UN....

wonder how much down time he will have in his speech; how many times will he repeat himself....

how many times will he pat himself on the back....

Trump needs his own little monkey to carry on his shoulder, so he won't have to pat his own back all fkng day long, especially when a camera is involved, relentless turd...

today's humor:
this is how I'd expect to see Trump in Germany-

I ran across this old skit, LMFAO...... loved Mike Meyers work, esp Sprockets, the one movie he never made, and paid for it, ..... or had to reimburse the studio for an incomplete script....

if this isn't an old SNL skit; then Tote sent me this video he shot in a local Bavarian Pub- from Germany....

This is becoming like a riddle: How many times will Trump fall over his own dick over the AHCA.... on the table again, I'm getting sick of this dog and pony/punch and judy show....

the U-HCA by now, the majority of peeps believe it now needs fixed, not repealed. Isn't govt supposed to reflect the will of the people, or the hot head of one sob?

Like McCain said, the Dems rammed this down our throats when they were in control, and its not right for the GOP to ram this one down the throats of the people just like the Dems did. What then would be the difference b/t both parties????

Ironic Sunday CNN has a 1 hr docudrama on Trump's Twitter-ing bs, his downfall, one of 'em....

from nation.com

This is Trump, the violent fantasist who dreams of a physical supremacy he never achieved, and has then spent his life expressing this insecurity and hostility through boardroom bullying and, of course, sexually predatory behavior. He has lived his life in thrall to toxic masculinity, but lacked the ability to prove this “manhood” on the football field, and then dodged the armed forces, never attempting to prove his “manhood” on the battlefield. He has chosen instead to spend a lifetime tearing down the people who have dared stand in his path, and the women who dared to say “no.” Call it irony, call it divine coincidence, but it’s stunning that the day Trump publicly yearns for the time when football fulfilled his vicarious desires of physical domination, Education Secretary Betsy DeVos on Friday scrapped a key part of government policy on campus sexual assault. It’s so on the nose, a screenwriter would reject the scenario.

^^^ "Chuck and Nancy are playing a longer game than Trump’s attention span will allow him to comprehend."

...that pretty much sums it up.

DO you agree with Trump's comments on pro athletes taking a knee during the anthem?
