So you're cool with gay people as long as they aren't married?

No, he's fine with profiting off them then as long as it doesn't conflict with his religion.

I mean come on, it's not like Jesus hung around with a bunch of dudes and got them drunk on free wine.

As a licensed real estate agent, I represent others...and am under certain guidelines/laws. As a store owner, I represent myself.

So when you represent others, you don't feel like you're free to be a bigot, but when you represent yourself, then you are free to be a bigot? Is that really what you're saying?

One would like to think so, but I think to them any failures that he has is just the work of the Clintons and Hunter Biden.

They're also into this too deep to be rescued at this point.

When I was working in St. Louis I wanted to buy a house. I got a real estate agent who had ties to my aunt in Florida. There was a house for sale by a Black family whom she didn't want me to consider because they were Black. Guess she was not professional.
So, you're saying that Blacks and Whites are better than homosexuals. Why? Because only of the law?

No, what I'm really saying is I wouldn't make a custom wedding cake for a gay couple. If they came in and purchased a pre-made cake out of the case? No problemo.

just wondering, if someone said they wouldn't make a custom wedding cake for a christian couple, how you would you feel about it?
I mean, outside of just going to another cake making place so really who gives a shit if someone makes a declaration that they won't make a cake.

Agreed. If I make a declaration that I won't make a certain cake, who really cares?

The only declaration I would make is no lemon cake.

In that case you shouldn't be given or allowed to retain a business license purporting to serve the public.

Serving the public means serving the public. What part of that do you not understand?
Gawd I hate agreeing with ABM but we grew up in a “we reserve the right to refuse service to anyone” generation. I thought the lesbian wedding cake fiasco in Oregon was badly handled. The government had no right weighing against the idiot bakers. All those two lesbians had to do was make the shops recalcitrance known and let the market decide the shop’s fate. Those two ladies (or anyone else of any persuasion) have no right to force those clowns to make them a cake. And the way they went about the situation was counterproductive. You can’t force a business to serve someone and government be damned. If someone refuses to serve me, it’s their loss.

No shirt, no shoes, no service.
And that rule applies to all of the public regardless of race, color, ethnicity, country of origin or sexual status. Yes, you may discriminate against people who speak with a lisp, or part their hair in the middle or wear a mustache or even walk with a limp unless they are handicapped.

Do you know what public means?

I don't believe in same-sex marriages, and therefore won't bake a "custom" cake depicting such. End. Of. Story.

Yes, we have reached an impasse on this subject. Doesn't affect my feeling for you one tiny bit, which means I passionately desire to kiss you on the lips. Oh, come on, you know what a clown I am by now.

I do know it was tongue-in-cheek, yes.

Yes, I have had an education. I know what public means. So what’s your point??? Government has NO right (or should NOT have the right) to dictate who a private business serves or does not serve. Smart, accommodating businesses succeed. Those who can’t (or refuse to) adjust to market realities fail. Simple as that. Why make stupid idiots into martyrs to a lost cause?? Instead of two people looking like idiots, four people ended up looking like shit. Personally, I think the ladies in the Oregon case were more interested in drawing attention to themselves more than they actually wanted the cake. But that’s just me. Trying to force someone to do something for you that they don’t want to do (and have a right to refuse to do as a private business that relies on public goodwill) sure seems counter intuitive and counterproductive.

I explained my point during this exchange which I assumed you would read.
A business license means you serve the public and homosexuals are part of the public. I rest me case.

Don't believe in them? But aren't you out hunting big foot?

Exactly. No same-sex marriages and no bigfoot. Not that I've seen, anyway. Sometimes those footprints sure are convincing, though!

Supreme Court: Your Bakery Doesn't Have to Bake a Gay Wedding Cake
This 7-2 decision said religious freedoms have to be balanced with the right to be served.
Just as they did in the case of the second amendment and the right to bear arms the Supreme Court goofed.

So, just because I have religious beliefs, based upon what the Bible clearly says, I should never consider owning a business that could include making a custom wedding cake for a gay couple? What if were a minister and they asked me to marry them? Based upon your premise, it would be a sin to turn them down.
