I know it's just an exhibition, but I wasn't too thrilled with Nic's play today. I don't know if he was still not feeling 100% after being sick...who knows.
He shot it well when open which is nothing new, but struggled when creating offense for himself.
Ball Handling looked a little better, but still doesn't have the left hand or ball security while in traffic or pressured to be a good option in isolation or as a playmaker in pnr situations.
Made quick decisions with the ball which I've always liked about his game, but forced some passes.
Would've liked to see him be more aggressive and physical off the ball when matched up against a smaller defender which was often in this game. The one time he got semi deep inside position, he scored over curry.
His defense wasn't good at all and I've always thought it was a bit overrated to be honest. His individual D has always been solid, (featuring not great foot speed or strength, but good disciplined footwork and great length) but his team D is not anything above even average. His defensive instincts aren't that great and he just seems to be a step slow or lost in most defensive situations when the ball isn't in his immediate area.
Still like him a lot, but you can tell he's 21 and raw in many areas. Excited to watch him improve if given big minutes over the next couple years.
