And I doubt he is MVP type. But very good nontheless.Dame isn’t a plus defender.

Post you quoted didn't say he was.Dame isn’t a plus defender.
Post you quoted didn't say he was.
How does a post that specifically says Dame is "not a very good defender" imply that he's a plus defender? Quite obviously, he's saying that Dame would be an MVP-type if he were a plus defender, but that he's actually neither.It certainly implies it.
It clearly does not. Sorry you weren't able to understand a simple statement.It certainly implies it.
Hey guys, I know just the guy to get!
Older vet and great leader.
Elite shooting.
Not a very good defender, but elite shooters that are plus defenders are mvp type.
Super clutch.
Knows the terrain and has history with Portland.
Anyone heard of the player Damian Lillard?
He is pretty good and does what most in here are saying we need, it seems.
How many of our young guys would we need to give up to get him on the court and in a Blazers uniform by the start of next season?

I don't see the urgency any moreIf we can get off either Grant or Jrue contract I'd trade them ASAP.

It certainly implies it.
Even if that's all true I can think of a number of big advantages:I don't see the urgency any more
forget about cap-space, Portland won't have any thru the expiration of the Jrue/Grant contracts
so the concern would be the tax line vs guarantees thru 2027-28; after which, the Jrue/Grant contracts expire
this season: tax line-->189M....tax space = 1.5M
2026-27: tax line-->202M....tax space = 36M (10 players-->(Thybulle/Timelord UFA. Rupert/Reath RFA)
2027-28: tax line-->212M....tax space = 57M (8 players-->(Scoot/Murray RFA)
it might get a little tight next season, especially if they re-sign Thybulle for 15M or so. But even if they did that still leaves 20M for a draft pick and to fillout the back end of the roster
I do not see any compelling reason to trade either Grant or Jrue. The only reason would be if there was a good offer
