Way too early trade suggestions (4 Viewers)

That's weird. They just got rid of a dude that I would think pairs well with AD. Also the Trae trade seemed like they were trying to clear cap space and AD has two more seasons after this one at the supermax (58.4M and 62.8M).

This feels like a rumor floated by the Mavs to try and manufacture some sense of urgency from another team that's made an offer on AD.

They just need to sit back and let the youngins cook. Johnson is a beast already. Maybe make a move for Zubac, since he is on the block, and just wait. Having cap space might come in handy this offaeason.

Do we want to move RWIII or keep him while Yang warms up to temperature?
I'd vote to keep him.

Sure if some team would give up a good pick or it helps offload Grant's contract, etc then send him out. That sounds very unlikely.

But if its just a crappy 2nd round pick I'd rather see what Timelord provides the rest of the season. Been fun watching the Blazers get within 2 games of .500

The question is - what is the team willing to pay him next year and will he be interested in staying for that amount?

If they do not think they can retain him for what they believe is a contract that makes sense - you move him, as much fun as he is to watch.

He’s never going to get many minutes; we already do a fine job of managing his knees. I would hope he stays if we pay him reasonably.

As always, depends on the return. But I'd look to move him if we can get something halfway decent for him.

So what is a decent return? A 2nd round pick in 45-60 range?

He obviously isn't worth a FRP like Josh Hart was starting for us - nor a high 2nd rounder. Those late 2nd round picks are the types the Blazers just sell for cash in recent years.

I just don't see the point in trading him away for something so irrelevant. Conversely I don't see why any other team would give up value for someone with such massive injury history and little minute availability.

I'd just be glad he is here. Yes we could consider resigning him at the market rate if he wants to come back.

Yeah, I definitely wouldn't move him for a late 2nd like that. It probably is unlikely to get what it would take to move him. Agreed, nobody is giving a 1st. I'd be ok with a meh-ish prospect, like a Dalton Knecht, or similar, a guy their team maybe is kinda done with, but we can take a cheap flyer. Knecht, Grady Dick, Dadiet, Salaun, Shannon Jr.

I'd be cool with including him in a deal that returns a 40%+ marksman.

If Atlanta makes a move for AD, I'd see if we could steal Kennard instead of him going to Dallas.
People keep wanting to get shooters who can't defend (Kennard, Kispert) but I have a feeling if we did, we suddenly wouldn't be in every game. It's no accident that teams that are super efficient against the rest of the league (Boston, Houston) suddenly look really ordinary against us, and even if all our clanks are frustrating, I wouldn't want to mess with our D. (It's going to be interesting when Dame comes back.)

I've been thinking the same thing. We have to get three and D guys, if it's just three point specialists then we will take our strength and make it a weakness in order to take one of our weaknesses and make it a neutral area.

Perfect. Who needs a healthy long great defending and 3pt shooting guard anyways ?
