I think it’s Toronto. Lots of Siakam talk

Blazers really want Bridges

Miami trying to put a pkg together for Dame

Should be a fun week

Zion is an easy choice IF he passes the physical.

He obviously needs to be around a leader like Dame.

What about a 4 way?

#3 + G Harris ($13.0M) + Knox ($3.0M) to Pelicans
Zion ($33.5M) to Nets
Simons ($24.1M) to Orlando
Bridges + Claxton ($21.7 + $8.8M) + #11 to Portland

Sorry I was not trying to put words in your mouth but it seemed which direction you prefer with this line:

"Sadly, at some point, it will be time to go in a new direction. Will that be with assets from Dame to support Sharpe or whomever is the next era, or will it be with an empty cupboard from chasing emotional dreams that had next to no chance of succeeding?"

I just don't think the cupboard necessarily will be empty.

The very first word, "sadly" would seem to be the quite the opposite of "want".

Empty is probably an overstatement, but I would much rather have additional assets to add, versus giving up assets to get....when the difference in the success of the team is not significantly different in terms of real impact.

Along with that, the Hornets are taking calls on the pick, and for the right price, would be willing to move it, reports suggest. But a league source said they are seeking “the sun, moon, the stars and maybe some beachfront property” in exchange.

Hope we have the same approach.

Tradewise......I wonder, between us and Charlotte, who can offer a better return in order to match salaries in addition to the pick

Sam Vecenie posted his final big board — Cam Whitmore is #3 ahead of Miller:

“Elite intersection of size, frame, athleticism and power. I think his athleticism has been underrated through the process. Mixes that with very real body control and balance. Whitmore is 6-foot-6 without shoes with a near 6-foot-9 wingspan and a powerful 235-pound build. He has a strong near 8-foot-8 standing reach. But beyond that, he is very explosive. Not quite the overall athlete Anthony Edwards is in terms of fluidity and ability to flip his hips but is in his ballpark in terms of power generation and explosiveness.

Has a good first step despite being 235 pounds. Very real bounce. Can jump off one foot or two and finish high above the rim.

Very powerful and has real burst in transition. Creates transition opportunities and finishes those chances. But he’s also a real half-court dunking threat. Threw down some monster ones. The important thing, though, is that he combines all of this with power and huge hands. Has great contact balance. Hard to knock him off his spot. Drives through rim protectors at the basket and is a really impressive contested rebounder because of this combination.”

If we trade Simons and #3 and all we get back is Siakam I think that's a huge fail.
i think getting one player, be it siakam, brown, bridges, og anunoby, lavine, ingram etc does not make trail blazers a contender, another really good player would need to be acquired + bench improvements + betting on sharpe to take the leap

quite a few question marks and im not really sure its doable... im good with either drafting scoot/miller and keeping lillard or with total rebuild, im not against trading the 3rd pick, but a lot would need to fall into place

if all we get is siakam, then fuck joe cronin, fuck jody allen and fuck this franchise too

Charlotte. They have a 30 mil expiring contract in Hayward for a really simple move.

Lol. I've been advocating for Cam for a while. But I also want to exploit the hype around Miller/Thompsons to trade down for him and pick up assets.

Trading the third for zion will be a huge mistake. Mark my words.
I said from the get go he has an Oliver Miller future. But looking more like a Swannigan future( minus the passing).

He is just too think for the modern nba.

do not mortgage the future on a guy who will not be in tue league three years from now.
That’s definitely one way to look at it. The other way is when he played last year, it was MVP level and his team was 18-8, best in the West. He’s young enough to turn things around.

I think we are about to find out that the actual value of the number three pick is worth more than the board guru's think. The Brass knows they have to get this right.

I like Cam, but his ceiling seems like a bigger Desmond Bane. Miller will need time to adjust to the NBA, but he's got so much more upside (shooting, nice handle & court vision).
Bane and Cam have like 0 commonalities. From body type to athleticism to their games. What a bizarre comp.

I fucking love Cam Whitmore.

I was dead wrong about Tari Eason last year and how his BBIQ (or lack of) would impact his game, and I have the same question of Whitmore. The guy makes some of the worst decisions I've ever seen.

But at 6'6, 230+ lbs, he might have a better first step than Scoot.

If I wasn't still hesitant about BBIQ, he'd be my #2 and it wouldn't even be close.

Because when he (Zion) plays, he’s MVP level and he’s only 22.

And therein is the conundrum. Incredible talent.....when he plays, which has been less than 50% of his career so far.
