Read on a Pels forum that hyper-religious owner of the team is more inclined to let Zion go because of his off court "interludes".

And i'd bet the owners done the same things lol

Wasn’t his name. It was his numbers. Zion’s career numbers are astonishing.

Career numbers are inflated because of the lack of games. I'll be more impressed if he does a Jokic type of thing. (not to his level, but the consistency) until then he's still a much much better Greg Oden and we dont need question marks no matter how talented.

If the best deal is a shitty deal then I feel like Joe won't have done his job. There is serious value in this pick. There has to be a team out there willing to give better fitting fair compensation for it. The fact that there "hasn't been the right deal" last off season and this past trade deadline would tell me that if Joe uses that same tired excuse again he's either a terrible negotiator or like Olshey doesn't know how to gauge the real value of the assets he has in a way that allows him to build functional rosters.

Thats an expectation that there HAS to be. But its WAY more likely that there isnt. And that fault of the expectation would lie on you, and we'd be the bearer of that consequence lol.

think he's already won over dame.

we just need to move Ant for a SF or PF while upgrading from Nurk, and you can open up like 25-30 mpg for Scoot to be the 6th man and third guard.

Here's a framework:

Dame / Scoot
Sharpe /
Grant / Thybulle
Collins / Wataford
Turner / ?
Cut out Pacers. Have Atlanta send #15 to Portland

If you honestly believe this, and his play on the court reflects it… (which is pretty much the only way his value goes up)

It won’t be Scoot being traded. It’ll be Dame.

Conjecture based on nothing at all.

And that's still a better problem to have than giving away a star for players that don't move the needle.

Celtics?

Does yesterday's trade for KP make Brown expendable? And trading away Smart mean they now need a PG? (Scoot)

Hi guys, long time no see

So, what is the worst possible outcome today?

I want to know so i won't be surprised when Cronin delivers it.

Running another three guard lineup that can’t defend. There must be no deals out there for us to make though.

Shitty scenario 1.
3 for one of Levine, Derozen, KAT, George, Siakam, OG

Shitty scenario 2.
Including Sharpe in a deal for anyone

Shitty scenario 3.
Chauncey signs a multi year extension

Shitty scenario 4.
Nurk and Ant are still on the team

Shitty scenario 5.
We somehow find a WABC from Syracuse to draft

Number 5 is in the S2 hall of fame with MRS HCP, FAMS.

Not inflated at all. 114 games is a big enough sample size to see what a guy brings to the table and he’s been very consistent from Day 1.

I was talking Mental disabilities, you are talking physical disabilities. New hires still must meet basic job qualifications. I had 80+ employees for about 15 years before I retired last year and had some employees that required reasonable accommodations but they still had to have the basic job skills and qualifications in order to be hired in the first place.
Mental and physical disabilities are equally protected.

I don't accept that as true

Brandon Roy vs Zion--> 283 games vs 114 games--> 13M in salary vs 34M in salary

even allowing for a doubling of the cap, then Roy was at 26M in salary compared to Zion.

so then, how about a tale of the tape of their rookie scale deals:

games: Roy 283....Zion 114
points: Roy 5534....Zion 2941
rebounds: Roy 1253....Zion 793
assists: Roy 1365....Zion 409
winshares: Roy 35.4....Zion 14.2

total salary: Roy 26M....Zion 34M

tell me again how Zion was "worth more" than Roy. I hate it when people don't factor availability. It's one of the most important qualities in a player and Zion hasn't been available

Obviously Roy failed in his 5th season. But Portland got great value during his rookie scale. They paid Roy $92,000/game. The Pels have paid Zion $300,000/game
You’re not looking at per game stats because they kill your argument. Of course a guy who played more games scored more points.

I'm loving this!

Levine + scenario 4 seem very probable because it really does sound awful.

Masai robbing Croning also feels right. I bet he doesnt even give Siakam in that trade.

Paying way too much to serve as a retirement home for Zion feels cozy and familiar as well.

There's a lot of bad options when you think about it. I hope we don't do anything drastic until ownership and front office is replaced.

When there's no deals to make you stock assets.
I came to this conclusion that there's really no pressure to do anything right now. We're not getting Giannis or Luka to play with Dame, everything is fine.

I think that the gods were smiling down on us when they gave us pick #3 this year. think about it. In 1984 we had the #2 pick and we blew it. In 2007 we had the #1 pick and we blew it. So this year we have #3. The top 2 picks will be off the board so the one that's left has got to be the right pick - - - Right? Just please do not blow it by trading the pick for some injury prone big man with great potential that will end up like another Sam Bowie or Greg Oden. Please god, please!!!! Amen

That’s insulting. I know that Dame can’t be traded until July and he apparently does not.
I was referring to the fact that he is using Dame's own words.

But I'm sure they could probably start agreeing in principle to a trade that executes on July 10th or something of that nature.

Or at the very least, start laying the groundwork.

Feels like Natebishop is Windhorst and Windhorst is Natebishop

Windy is really pushing this. Dame can't be traded for a minute, but I'm sure we would get reports of the framework of a deal if it was offered.

Every windbag basketball commentator has a real Jones to see Dame traded. F them all. I hope Cronin pulls off some magic tonight and these “experts” are left with massive amounts of egg on their faces.

Literally yesterday, talking heads were saying Dame would not immediately request a trade on Thursday night if we make a pick to keep. And that he would weigh his options and if it came to that, he would request a trade later in the yr or at the deadline.

Narrative changes when they get in front of ESPN cameras.
