To be fair, if you watch it, Windy doesn’t say Dame will immediately request out and he doesn’t even say it would be Dame’s doing. He said something like they’d probably have a conversation in the next 48-72 hours following the draft BUT teams would start calling immediately.Literally yesterday, talking heads were saying Dame would not immediately request a trade on Thursday night if we make a pick to keep. And that he would weigh his options and if it came to that, he would request a trade later in the yr or at the deadline.
Narrative changes when they get in front of ESPN cameras.
It's nonsense. The market for Dame is like 2 teams. And we have no real reason to trade him for 50 cents on the dollar outside of his crying to Haynes. Dame signed a 5 yr supermax. He has no legs to stand on really in demanding a trade after preaching loyalty for a decade. To be fair, if you watch it, Windy doesn’t say Dame will immediately request out and he doesn’t even say it would be Dame’s doing. Frankly this is the time where I wish we had a bit of a prick as a GM who would say, “even if he did request a trade, he’s under contract for multiple years. We aren’t trading him even if that’s what he wants.”I have pretty much put Windhorst on ignore -- cause all he is doing is repeating what we already know or suspect but nothing concrete. There are facts that cannot be white washed and that is only one team that might be on Dame's list that could make a legit offer and that is the Net's. Almost every other team does not have enough assets to make it worth it for the Blazers to trade Dame since I also think the Blazers want to send him out east too. Also I think what has made the whole trade Dame worse is EVERY National Media member except maybe Haynes wants Dame out of Portland and will twist things to fit that narrative.
I am just done with this part of it until Dame comes out and says my time is up in Portland please trade me until that I am trying my best to ignore the media on that front and basically tell them to BEEP off too --- LOL
I’ve beat this horse to death but I agree with you. I think I was one of the only people to say if he requested a trade I’d tell him “too bad”It's nonsense. The market for Dame is like 2 teams. I hope Cronin has a backbone if it comes to that. Unfortunately i dont think he does.I’ve beat this horse to death but I agree with you. I think I was one of the only people to say if he requested a trade I’d tell him “too bad”
You’re not looking at per game stats because they kill your argument. Of course a guy who played more games scored more points.
Wait. We tried to trade 3 for PG and the Clips said no?https://sports.yahoo.com/2023-nba-d...-deal-shifted-the-trade-market-145359265.html
Lots of discussion here.
We tried trading 3 for George but never worked out.
The trade on Friday is the Beal trade @illmatic99
Shopping 23 for veteran help. Brooklyn looking for first for ONeale or first and player for Finney Smith. I think this is where we go.
Portland inquiring about 3 for George is why I have no faith in this organization to get this right. All to appease Dame….asininehttps://sports.yahoo.com/2023-nba-d...-deal-shifted-the-trade-market-145359265.html

It was bigger, but yaWait. We tried to trade 3 for PG and the Clips said no?
For fucks sake, Joe.
If we keep the pick and Dame asks out we should be able to get Claxton from BrooklynIf we keep pick and draft Miller, then i would love to trade up somehow and grab Lively.

just trying to follow the logic in here...So, if the Clippers said no to a trade, we blame Joe? It's a horrible trade for Portland, and I can't imagine them offering it but want to understand the blame Joe part.

Wouldn’t be straight upIf we trade Dame for Claxton i'll stick to NFL and MLB going forward

Money is POURING in on Scoot at #2 this morning. The odds for Miller to go #2 have dropped significantly.
Maybe did that because he'd rather play in Portland with Dame.He pissed off MJ lol

It's a really stupid idea from us in the first place. That LA rejected is irrelevantjust trying to follow the logic in here...So, if the Clippers said no to a trade, we blame Joe? It's a horrible trade for Portland, and I can't imagine them offering it but want to understand the blame Joe part.
