Watching Brown right now is making me hesitant to trade the 3rd pick for him. I don’t know if him and Tatum just don’t gel but he looks like he’s just going through the motions.

he's not close to being a #1 option. In fact, he seems to be one of those players who sometimes disappear if his shot isn't falling. He's also not a good three points shooter. He puts up good numbers though, at least he does in the regular season

but the way thing are going he sure might be available

if Scoot is as good as some of you Scoot-fans claim, Charlotte will draft him at 2
If Michael Jordan is as good as Bobby Knight says, the Trail Blazers will draft him.

“Bobby Knight, who'd coached MJ at the '84 Olympic trials, urged Blazers GM Stu Inman (an old pal) to take Jordan. Inman said, "But we need a center." Knight yelled back, "So play him at center!" Inman didn't listen.”

I love how people keep saying “Scoot would be #1 in most drafts” when Miller started showing up ahead of him in mocks as early as November.

And people saying Scoot @ 3 is only because CHA is dumb.

The mocks didn’t think CHA was gonna be 2 and they still had teams taking Miller.

So why did a Toronto team loaded with all these players that are worth sooo much in trade value finish 41-41 and lost in the play in? Siakam, OG, Barnes, VanVleet, Trent Jr, Poeltl. I can't see what anyone of them did to set them apart and be rated so highly as individual players. Obviously none of them can carry a team to victory or be the number one on the team. Bridges is unproven in that as well in Brooklyn and Brown is not impressing for Boston. Offering Ant, 3 and filler seems like an over pay for most of these guys as they are all number two's or threes's on their teams.

All that said, I LOVE Cam Whitmore.

I have some questions about the BBIQ though…

No doubt in my mind we trade the pick and some.
Joe & Chauncey have made a commitment to Dame and teams will be lined up with offers.

So how many in here were sure that we were going to trade the #7 last year?
I really thought it was dependent on who was available. At 3 virtually everyone is available. At 7, it depends on your draft board much more.

Yeah..... he sure doesn't look like he's worth 300 million.

Apparently the shiny new pick is better than a guaranteed all star (he might be). I would be estatic if we could get Siakam, even if it cost us 3rd pick and Ant.
I hate it. Siakam is on an expiring contract, almost 30, and the Blazers will have to spend 200 million to resign him. So your stuck capped out with Dame Siakam Grant Sharpe and a bunch of scrubs the next 6 years. That's not contending now and no way to improve down the road.

I think if the Blazers acquired him they wouldn't be able to pay him the same supermax that Boston can?

Actually kind of a blessing, he deserves the max but I wouldn't want to pay him the supermax.

There's a lot to be said for the cost control and youth that comes with that shiny new pick. Siakam by himself doesn't make us a contender. So great, we trade 2 valuable, young assets to lose in the 2nd round for the next couple years instead of the first, all the while paying Siakam a mass deal until Dame bounces or retires? Pass at that price...

From what I was just reading, they may look to deal CJ out of town.

And I never believed CJ and Dame wouldn't work. They wouldn't work with the front court Portland always put around them.

Okay fair point, I didn't think about that side of things.

I think Portland continues to play 2 time lines.

Orlando trades 6, 11, WCJ -> 3 and Nurkic
Portland trades 3, Simons, Nurkic -> OG, WCJ, 11, 13
Toronto trades OG, 13 -> 6, Simons

Orlando gets their PG of the future
Portland gets upgrades but has flexibility to get more support with 3 firsts.
Toronto gets better assets then they wanted last year so add the first

Yeah..... he sure doesn't look like he's worth 300 million.

If he looked like he was worth 300 million we wouldn't be talking about being able to possibly get him (and we still probably won't).

fair, but no matter how many people say these two guys are guaranteed to be all stars someday. Seems like we hear that about the top 3 picks every year and there is a miss or two. Siakam, Dame, Grant, Sharpe and even Nurk is a very strong team maybe top 5 in west now that there has been a drop off by some top teams that are aging. If you free up NY pick then you could use Nurk and 2-3 1st rounders to upgrade center position maybe try and get Naz
