And we'd have to have a stark preference for Amen vs Brandon Miller.
I’m holding out hope CHA picks Miller. The additional player(s) we can get to trade down between #4-6 is enticing enough to consider imo.

Eason
Duren
Wagner

Brutal honesty by Nurk that didn't need to be said.

I think it needs to be said because people just aren't getting it.

Dame wants to win now. He wants the team to go out and get the pieces necessary to win now. If the team can't or won't do that, Dame has said that they will have "a different conversation."

pick 3 for Franz and pick 6. Select Walker at 6. Trade Ant, Nurk and pick 23 (plus a future first if needed) to the Suns for Ayton and Payne. Select BPA at 43. Re-sign Matisse and Jerami. Sign a backup big with the TPMLE.

Nine man rotation: Dame, Shaedon, Franz, Jerami, Ayton, Walker, Matisse, Payne and TPMLE backup big.

keep Dame...draft Miller...tell Chris Paul to flop and get injured somewhere else. By the way, Dame as Scoot's mentor would be about 5 times better than CP3

Or how about this?

I don't think anyone is suggesting pairing Dame and Scoot. Sharpe just turned 20 and Scoot is 19. They probably think it is a good idea to pair those two together after a few years. I see no issue with a Dame, Sharpe, and Scoot backcourt for now. Thybulle can get minutes at both SF and SG depending on the matchups. But Dame is still by far the best player in the group, so I am in no hurry to trade him. And if Scoot is a tier above the others in the draft that some think, do you pass on the BPA....again?

And even when Scoot is on the floor with Dame, it is not like a strong, extremely athletic 196 lb guard with a 6'9" wing span is small. That is longer than Booker and the same as Klay and Edwards. Will he be a good defender? I don't know but it won't be because of his size against the vast majority of SGs.
Dame will love playing here with his only purpose of training his replacement while having no hope AT ALL for success

Read on a Clippers article that they might consider the 3rd pick for Paul George ...the guy everybody hopes Williams will turn out to be although they said the Clips would prefer Scoot at the 3 spot..

Stars always have leverage. I think you're grossly under-estimating the politics between players/agents/front offices by saying he has no leverage.
He has none. He’s locked up for many years and he’s not an asshole.

Could be. When Sharpe's potential reaches the point of production, then he should start.

Sharpe could turn into an All-NBA player. He could also turn into JR Smith. If all the young Blazers reached the potential projected by this board over this years, we'd have won 10 of the last 20 championships.

I myself think theres no reason not to put sharpe in the starting line up at this point purely because we know simons doesnt work with dame that well and id rather force him more minutes (not that he wasnt going to get them anyways) and let him learn from mistakes, hes not pointless coming off the bench either but i think with his length/height hes a better fit with dame. im in the boat of putting Ant in the second unit and let him take the reigns of that, if we end up getting/taking scoot trade ant and nurk for a SF/C upgrade or ones that work better and let scoot take the second unit. if dame is unhappy with using the pick instead of trading it for vets then trade him too i suppose even though i dont want to. I just think that risking a trade for MOST vets for the 3 (or any lotto pick really) is just too risky because there is no guarantee that it will work either and then said vet leaves after a year or two because their contract is up and were stuck with our pickle in our hand.

As far as what we should do with the 3# pick, for whatever reason i am more high on one of the thompson twins (I keep getting them mixed up but probably the more athletic one with the broken jumper, but cool with either) than i am anyone else -- probably because i like their intangible stats the most and the idea of having someone whos a point forward and known for defense and good work ethic -- id feel fine with scoot, but he feels short and i know everyone is really high on him i just think that im sick of smaller guards who dont defend well to a point and want length and height, and for whatever reason im unexcited about miller not sure why at all but i just feel meh about him from everything i have read/seen. if I had to list them out itd probably go 1. Thompson twin (1) 2. Scoot 3. thompson twin (2) and then miller.

So with that in mind, I am ok with trading down for more picks in this draft in the lotto, but not for (most) vets. So, i would imagine we would have to trade back a few spots to not "waste" a pick on one of the twins to whoever in the top 4-7 wants scoot/miller and try to get whatever other picks (orlando 6/11, indiana 7/26/29 ECT.) we can off of them, if it can include a younger player that can make us better now IE Franz, Eason, Duren and we can throw in nurk or ant in for the swap too great. Then after fill the holes with whatever other vets we can via trade if we havent traded ant/nurk with the lesser draft picks (outside lotto) if we need sweetners. Im in the mode of get better and win now without sacrificing our future post dame, if post dame is now because we go somewhat young or if thats when he retires as a blazer. I want him to win a championship here and yeah itd be nice if it was in his prime because maybe he could go for more than just one, but the story of dame surviving multiple rebuilds/refreshes and taking the youngins to the promised land and staying true to portland sounds like an awesome one. If he wants to try and go elsewhere to do it and not wait around i get that too, but i hope he can see that there are some bright stars in the draft even outside of wemby and that while vet help is always needed the young guys can still put quality minutes together if he doesnt want to fuck around and find out, i dont blame him but i hope he does end up staying for it and if not, it just means more prospects coming back either now or in the future. Risky to trade down especially if everyone says scoot is basically a guarantee all star, but i think a thompson twin fits better with our team and is still good, and if it nets us more assets that are good than im more for that, than scoot and i just hope it doesnt bite us in the ass....

I watched the game, he was awesome. He was very good the last month of the season (minus the Pels). My previous point was that it's a totally different ball-game when the team is trying to lose, you're teammates are clearly inferior, etc. Can he produce, at a high level, as the #4 option, when the team needs to win? That has yet to be seen.
Can’t know for sure unless you play him.
