I dont think theres a big difference between Turner and Nurk but I know we've been linked to Myles in the past. And his contract for the next two years is fairly reasonable.
If they could come out of the offseason with this starting five, I personally would consider this to be one of the best GM accomplishments in Blazer history. Barring them trading every future asset they have.
I think it would also be much easier to lure FA's on good contracts to fill out the bench than it ever has. Not the youth movement I would like to see, but it also wouldn't mean a shortened window, too.

Keep on seeing rumors of Indy wanting a SF upgrade and their interest in Miller.

What do we want from them besides 7 to get them to 3?
Screw Indiana. Literally. I'm not interested in dealing with them unless we're screwing them over.

How about this?

To IND:
#3
Nurk

To POR:
#29
Turner
Siakam

To TOR:
#7, #26
Simons
Little
Keon

If we could make something like this work, I'd go for it. Even if we weren't screwing Indy.

She says, "I see Scoot and Brandon as almost equal consolation prizes"

(timestamped)

A couple of other interesting notes:

  • Thinks Amen, Ausar, Brandon and Scoot can immediately help a team win now.
  • Says the game caters to tall, long, athletic guards and says explicitly she is talking about Amen, Ausar, and Miller with this comment.
  • Schmitz apparently LOVED Amen
Then some chatter about later draft picks.

that would be a bold & risky pick by Portland if Scoot or Miller was available.

holy crap...here's thought: Charlotte shocks the world and takes Amen. Then Portland has to choose between Scott or Miller...yikes!
Easy choice.

Miller all day, every day, and twice on sunday.

Easy.

I am more and more convinced that there is no way we keep #3 if it's Scoot.

There is about a 10% chance we keep it if's Miller.

And a 90% chance that pick is traded for whatever the hell we can get for it.

Schmitz has never loved him like Amen and Scoot.
I've never really seen Schmidt's take on Brandon Miller, so I've got no idea.

But his former partner thinks Miller is #2, ahead of Scoot, so I wonder how far he differs.

He had a list before the season.

She is an analyst that I highly recommend listening to. The whole thing.

I'm also listening to this one

I feel like I agree with this guy on a lot.

One big thing though: If we "blow it up", I'm drafting Amen.

He had a list before the season.
That's not super applicable IMO, particularly because Brandon Miller started moving up boards during the season due to his play.

Dereck Lively and Nick Smith were supposed to be top 3 picks before the season.

I highly doubt Schmitz would take either of those players over Miller if he knew what he knew now.

Could be wrong though.

Still would be interested in his analysis.

Just say no to Siakim.

I think we'll really regret passing on him or trading him if we do. There's more than what meets the eye about him than what you see in his stats or highlights. He has an intangible "it" factor.

If he's taken at #2 how exactly are we passing on him?
