After following this thread closely, I'm not optimistic. Money, money, money, controls all. It does not matter that we're good fans. It does not matter that we have a serviceable arena. Does PDX generate the most money for the NBA? No.
However. There is certainly something to be said about the stain moving the Sonics left on the league. There is certainly something to be said that I do believe Mr Allen put a stipulation in his Will (or whatever it is) that dictates the Blazers stay in Portland. How that plays into new ownership, I do not know.
@EL PRESIDENTE is't entirely wrong. This franchise could make way more money if it moved to Vegas. No lease buy-out, re-location fee, etc would stop it. A loss now is just profit later. It's an investment that would most certainly pay off
All I hope for at this point is Mr Allen bulletproof'd our ability to stay in the PAC NW at a minimum. I'm absolutely petrified. I can't unthink the owners of the NBA salivating at moving this team to Vegas, in particular.
