Well that left a sour taste. It's not enough that we were comprehensively beaten, it was by a younger team that will only get better, and our only consistent playoff performers are either out of here or in the twilight of their career. Add to that that we have no picks and wasted our last first rounder, and, as a cherry on top, our new owner makes Donald Sterling seem lovable... it might be time for a trial separation.

Dundon is gonna be good for the organization for the short term. Long term? Remains to be seen.

Be happy we actually have hope. I saw that this team was gonna suck 5 years ago and I was right every single year.

They still have to win me over but at least we have a new owner and theres hope that all the players that suck (which is pretty much every single one) are gone.

Im not a fan of inconsistent teams, and check out when its noticeable. But next year, if the right moves are made, we have a chance to not be a shitty, Waste-your-money team! But its just a small chance, and a small hope.

Forgot to mention that the nearest thing we have to a franchise player is a proud Israeli who doesn't seem troubled that his government is like Apartheid-era South Africa with nuclear weapons. Makes it a little hard to embrace him.

take a vacation, realize that it's a sport and not worth getting you down that much. It makes life a lot better when you don't take things like it so seriously.

Yeah, frankly I don't like all the political distractions surrounding him. It's like, we finally get a maybe star player, but he's a villain because of this political shit?

I wish I could say this team will only get better like the Spurs, but eh...idk. we just don't have that kind of talent.

Or I could really work on falling in love with another team. That would be a surer route to mental health

No sour taste FAMS! We lost to a team that is more talented than us. Plain and simple. It happens more times than not.

It's more moral than political

Maybe he's just trying to get through this in a way that is best for him and his family. Jewish mother and muslim father, plus, his service in the IDF was limited because of the designation that can be rescinded by a government that is known to be vindictive against people who speak out against it.

I don't need athletes speaking out against the recent actions by Israel, I need our own politicians to.

I have similar pessimism for the Blazers going forward.

How I view players (not everyone gets a mention):
- Dame - Yeah, he's back but notably older and coming off serious injury. Add shooting but defense? Not so much
- Grant - Dumb when he got that contract looking dumber every year
- Jrue - Solid but not spectacular - not sad about having him
- Camara - Solid D guy but not really a huge difference maker, not easily replaceable but replaceable
- Clingan - Has turned into a solid center - vs Wemby looked bad but I think Wemby does that to everyone
- Sharpe - Outside the occasional "Wow" moment, screams lifetime role-player - totally replaceable
- Scoot - Similar to Sharpe - occasional good game but I Simons was a better shooter and didn't turn the ball over near as much - plays decent defense but to me seems like a career backup PG
- Avdija - Plays like he is always looking for a foul and semi-out-of-control. Does it well but if he's not getting the calls, limits his effectiveness.

Nobody else even worth mentioning. Timelord has shown durability issues and Thybulle can be effective in a limited role but not an important player.

I can hope against hope that Yang has a great summer and actually looks like he is G-League material next year. Right now, he makes LaRue Martin look like a genius pick (comparatively). For all those "he's a baby Jokic" people, I agree, if he was playing in high school or at the Jr college level he'd look like that but against quality players, looks pretty darn bad.

Splitter - No discernible offensive scheme (movement-wise) and making in-game adjustments? Not seeing a lot of evidence. Not impressed.

Sound pessimistic? Yeah, I'm no KingSpeed. Not impressed. Not future hopeful - especially with a reported cheapskate new owner. What I've seen of Dundon so far hasn't impressed.

I'll still be rooting for them but without notable changes, likely without any real hope.

Gramps...

Maybe purgatory is slightly better than hell? That’s all I got

Also as much of a cunt as I think the new owner is, I do think he wants to win. That might not be in Portland, but while it is, relish in it????

Wanting to win and being effective at it are two different things. I'm sure the Sacramento owner wants to win just as bad.

I think the season was a smashing success.

The ownership bullshit is what is all on my mind however. Leaves such a sour taste after terrific season

I think Shaedon showed more commitment to defense this season and improved scoring ability. I don't think he's close to as good as he's going to get.

I think Scoot showed that he got better at everything, especially shooting and I don't think he's close to as good as he's going to get.

Both guys are 22 and both missed too much time this season.

I'm still very high on Toumani, amazing defender who has shown the ability and work ethic to improve his three point shooting.

I would consider trading high on Deni. It's going to take some wheeling and dealing to clear enough cap space to amend his current deal to the point where we can offer him the max extension he will be able to get on the open market. Sure we could offer him that same max deal in free agency but I would never take that gamble. I do love a lot of his game. It just comes down to probably using picks to move off of Jerami's and/or Jrue's contract or finding the highest bidder and moving him.

I would really love to move Clingan for a mobile 5. I think some teams might have use for his big body in pick and roll/pop centered offense. I wonder if Washington would like to have him for that reason with Trae and AD. Don't love that teams can play him off the floor and I'm not sure weight loss and/or better conditioning is going to improve that foot speed. At the very least we need a small ball 5 who unlike Rob as much as I love him, can play 30 minutes a night when needed, even on back to backs.

Dame is a real unknown. I know what Klay looked like when he came back a year younger than Dame will be. I know what Wes looked like younger than Dame. KD was 30 when he had his which is very very different.

I love Jrue and Rob but I'm hoping we're going to recommit to the timeline of Scoot and Shaedon this off season. If we're committing to Dame's timeline then they're both nice win immediately pieces.

TLDR: If we're going with Scoot and Shae's timeline there's a lot to be excited about and if we're going all in on Dame's timeline... well, we'll likely make it out of the first round next year and we have a big rebuild to look forward to about three years from now.

Too early to be near the edge of the fremont bridge. wait and see. His NHL team has been winning consistently

It's more moral than political
You look to athletes/sports for morality? You want Deni to step up on a soapbox and parrot your views of what Israel should or shouldn't be doing? That sure sounds like a good time...

Why should anyone here give the slightest of fucks whether they win someone so ridiculous back?
