great...we both have "first hand" knowledge that is complete different

setting that shit aside, why the fuck should there be NDA's about how the city of Portland spends public funds?
You can type cuss words all day long. It doesn’t make your case any stronger. It certainly doesn’t make you sound like you know what you’re talking about.
I’ll explain exactly why the city, county, state and federal agencies are willing to apply non disclosure agreements and even requirements. It’s because of the very nature of the internet and information leaks everywhere. Forums like this one spread a bunch of false information and subject matter to narratives that are contrary to public good.
When is the last time you actually sat through any kind of job orientation?
Every single job now prohibits cell phone use and pictures. Every job discourages posting about what you are doing on social media.
It’s not just professional athletes and famous people anymore.
High level job espionage is at record levels. You might think the public has a right to know but it can shut contracts down and actually be a huge public safety concern.

I feel ya. I just dont care for mediocrity anymore. Been through this so many times. Going through the Roy, Oden, Aldridge experience was rough. I don't enjoy making the play in and losing handily in the first round.

The truth is you say one ounce of criticism about a team and people have a tendency to get upset. To each their own.

Some people want to just watch to have a good time and get a break from life I guess.

For sure and I get that too. Like I said, it’s not like I don’t have gripes about the team but I try to not let it upset me too much. Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn’t. I too was heavily invested in the Roy Aldridge oden era and I think that’s why I went this route of we will get them next time rather than try to be overly upset over something I can’t control.

you're just making shit up now. Imagining correlations that don't come anywhere close to the situation

"multiple levels of NDA's"
"High level job espionage"

we're not talking about protecting military tech from the Chinese or importing plutonium or secret medical research in Antarctica

for chrissakes, the NDA's in question were signed in 2022, and it wasn't the city that wanted the NDA's it was the Paul Allen Trust. There are legal questions about the viability of these NDA's being enforceable with a new ownership group and several new city counselors who didn't sign the original NDA's. In any event, the bulk of the funding is coming from the state with the state taking a percentage of ownership of the Moda, and the state didn't sign any NDA's with the Blazers

again, setting this useless debate aside, the main point I'm making is the assertion that the decisions about how to spend public money on a publicly owned building should be done in secret and barred from disclosure is a corrupt idea and terrible government. But I guess it's the age of corruption. Ignorance is bliss right?

You think I’m making it all up huh?
Okay watch what happens.

you seem to be avoiding speaking to the point I'm making. Forget about the debatable frequency of NDA's

do you believe the negotiations about how the city raises their portion of the funding package should be hidden from public view?

I sure hope the state wasn't stupid enough to allow the city to be the front for this plan without any oversight because the city is staring to sound like they are scrambling and divided

ok, I was planning on it....but I've now asked you several times if you think the discussions, negotiations, and plans about spending public money on a publicly owned building should be hidden behind a fog of NDA's. Who is served by secret back room deals? It sure as hell isn't the public

There's should and then there's reality... Two different things.

This isn't about me silly. Try contemplating how ridiculous you're being projecting your personal expectations on some 20-something athlete (who most likely is just another self centered horny dumb jock). Come on Deni, throw yourself (and your family) into a political hailstorm for the rest of your life or else I won't root for you! You've focused your life energy becoming great at hoops, but chop chop it's time to get into international politics and publicly articulate my views or again... I won't root for you.

If he were to publicly take a vocal stand against Israel's atrocities, and righteous, articulate and genuine enough to pull it off successfully, that would truly be something. But come on... dude is an entertainer. I'm okay with him just being great at hoops and you, I & others saving the world... but maybe thats for the OT forum

STOMP
Notice that you're portraying being unbelievably patronizing about athletes as somehow virtuous. Don't you think athletes should see Muhammad Ali as a role model?

They had a player on their bench (Harper) who would be our franchise player
The Spurs have probably just had the best three-year run of first-round picks since Seattle/OKC 07-09. Comparing us to them is just asking for heartbreak.
