And realistically, Grant would probably perform and be as inconsistent as Gordon is on the Nuggets. But not shoot nearly as well.

to me Grant at his best is a great role player. But still, you dont give up a top 10 pick for a role player, and I dont even hate the guy. I can see how he would help us. It would just be a massive overpay.

Love Tari Eason's measurements.
Leonard Miller measure out well also.
Ron Harper Jr with a massive +7 wingspan.
Mark Williams with pterodactyl arms!

What? Nearly everywhere had him at 6’8 with a 7’1 wingspan, which is why he was a 3/4.

For most of the year, his wingspan in most places had him at a 6'8" wingspan. I thought they were shorting him, but most places only started changing him last week.

Grant isn't the kind of player the Pistons have to tack on the #5 pick for (in desperation). But he's not the kind of player that warrants a top 10 pick (as you said) in return, no matter what.

CJ didn't get a *guaranteed* lottery pick, and I'd argue he's a better player than Grant is.

Keon, Bledsoe's anchor and maybe Hughes + a future 1st or 2nd? Sure.

But not Simons and 7 for Grant and 5.

Think of it this way, would you trade Simons for Grant?

Because 5 and 7 aren't significantly different.

I'm assuming this is rhetorical, but FUCK NO

If I couldn't trade up I would trade down with Charlotte for 13 & 15 and those picks I would draft Williams for Duke.

Williams and Eason wouldn't be a bad haul....although with the confirmed measurements, I expect both players might move up a bit.

The big riser will be Dyson Daniels imo, and im not against drafting him.

Butler (supposed Small Forward) has massive length....but is skinnier than Holmgren.

have not seen anything on Sochan yet or the top 3 bigs

Im not sold on Grant being anything more than a good player on a bad team (much like his father).

I'm also not sure that the difference between 5 and 7 is worth giving up 7 and Simons, especially when the other end is Grant.

Grant isn't a superstar, he's barely a star. His PER is 16 (yes I know it's not the EABA), he shoots so-so from the floor, he's not going to all the sudden get better.

He's not worth giving up a lotto pick + a 22 year old player on the cusp of becoming something good.
I just don't buy the Dame/Simons backcourt, and I'd like to see them move on from it sooner rather than later. "Downgrading" (debatable) from Simons to Grant while swapping (for example) Murray for Sharpe (since it would have to be done in July) could be a good move.

Maybe, I don't know, let them play a few games as the dedicated starting back court together first?

Daniels
Sharpe
Williams(!)
Eason(?)
Moore Jr.(?)

Seem to be the big winners for measurements.

And that's most likely what will happen. And then, after we're most likely languishing at the bottom of the league defensively AGAIN, there will once again most likely be calls to break up our micro backcourt, and we'll most likely have to sell off one or the other at a discount.

I'd just like to avoid the most likely scenario for once.

Miami- Lowry and Herro
Milwaukee- Jrue and Allen
Minnesota- Russell and Beverley
Phoenix- Paul and Booker
Utah- Conley and Mitchell
Clippers- Jackson and Powell
Nuggets- Murray (Morris) and Barton
Nets- Irving and Curry

Not one guy over 6'5 in any of these playoff teams backcourts. Its not about size, its about how they defend. Billups won't give them the option to be lazy defensively.

So glad to know that Simons is already done progressing as a professional player.

as I said, I've seen a variance of between and 1 inch and 2.5 inches. If you have a guy who is 6'6, in shoes, with that variance he could be 6'5 or as small as 6'3.5. That's just too wide a variance.

Must not be that important otherwise wouldn't they measure them barefooted?

ftfy too

I'm a very helpful guy

Cept that I'm not wrong. Basically boils down to this.

Would you trade Grant for Simons? Because 5 and 7 isn't a massive difference.
