Girardi is playing with fire. He removed a pitcher who was dominant and hadn't allowed a hard hit ball in his last inning in favor of a reliever who is not a closer.

Have to keep it going against Tampa. Four game series at home against a last place team. Tampa can give them fits but there's no excuse if this is for real.
Giradi managed this game well, Mitchell to Severino worked well, and you knew Clippard was going to come in with Dellin unavailable. Pedro Gomez made a comment on Joe Girardi management abaility today. He took an 8-17 team staffed with Prima Donnas, slackers, went through a huge amount of change. Now he's got hungry newbies whom he hardly knows yet had cultivated a winning formula. Yes he does shit that will blow your mind sometimes but the man is 20 flight. I like what he is doing with this team.
I'm already worrying about this upcoming TB series.
Tampa Bay is not rolling over and have recently been kinda respectable,
4-6 last ten, 10-10 last 20, 14-16 last 30.
Yanks just 6-6 vs them this year, I know the Yanks have different personel than earlier but it's not going to stop TB from playing hard- imo.
Cobb is starting the series and he has absolutely owned the Yanks,
10G, 70 IP, 1.93 ERA/ 0.84 WHIP and averages 7 IP per start......again I realize this is a different Yankee team but it's not going to distract Cobb when he sees Yankee uniforms.
And of course there's Longoria, he loves the Yanks, 12 RBI in 12 games.

lol, This series has "trap" written all over it.
