Don’t mind players picking when they are free agents. Think it’s horribke that they now do it with one, two years on their contracts.

As I've mentioned elsewhere, it's better for small markets for them to do it than just walk away and leave for nothing.

Would you rather Dame keep it a secret he wanted out and leave us high and dry or would you rather get a kings ransom?

Paul George said this is why he told a Indy, he knew they'd be better off if he told them before he just walked away.

yeah, fuck players for wanting to be able to choose where they play and not being forced to stay in the same place for 7 years against their will.

They have these things called contracts that they sign. Nobody holds a gun to their head. They get paid millions of dollars and in exchange they get to play basketball. They have the offseason to go or live anywhere they want. They have their entire lives after 35 to live and do anything they want if they were smart with their money. This is not new to professional sports. Teams can trade contracts if they want but it's stupid to let players trade teams because it creates the opposite of parity, something the NBA needs more of in my opinion. And if the player wants to move on then they can once the contract they signed is over.

So with all that said, if you expect me to feel sorry for some 20 something millionaire because they have to live in Sacramento for a couple years you're going to be very very disappointed. Talk about entitlement.

Is the opposite of parody reality?

Actually, in restricted free agency, after their first contract..They sign a contract with a different team then they are forced to stay in a place they don't like if it's matched. So, technically, they don't even sign with the incumbent team by their own free will.

Forcing your way to specific teams isn't new either. Check out a BUNCH of QBs who refused to play for teams that drafted them, for instance.

Also in the game of soccer, players force there way out all the time. Neymar, Ronaldo... both in recent memory. Fanendo Adi as a timber.

I also never told you to feel bad. I don't care how you feel. You're the one who is quite opinionated over a sport and apparently have your panties in a bunch over where players play because you think money makes up for personal happiness.

You're the entitled one thinking you're owed something for supporting a sports team. You aren't owed anything, including parity.

Sorry. But justifying it in any way is pathetic. Sign a contract (worth millions) and this is your chosen profession, and you have to play where they tell you. They should just go find another job that pays them millions of dollars each year for 9,10 months work. That should be very easy for all of these wizards. Gimme a break. Sign shorter deals. Do what Lebron and KD do, no long term deals, just decide what to do every couple years. Oh? You want security? 4 years? Sure. But you have to actually stay here and play.
