what we're seeing is that expiring contracts have been integral to a lot of the trades

unfortunately, for Portland, there are about 3 times the number of expiring contracts next season as there are this season. This year when there are buyers of expiring deals there are only a few sellers. Next year will see the reverse. Blazers and good timing seem to fit together like motor oil and new carpet

Link? How many are there this year? And next year?

Question. Will you be satisfied if the deadline passes with Hood as our only move?

Seriously, if all my local teams had the luck of the Blazers I'd have drank drano a long time ago. Look at the opposite scenario in the Oregon Ducks. They lose their head coach to Florida State. Turns out the replacement is a much better coach who got a bad reputation at his last job and happens to be maybe the best recruiter in the country. The Ducks land the best recruiting class is over 100 years of football while Willie Taggart crashes and burns in Florida State. That's called having a decent turn of luck.

If the Blazers lost their coach and replaced him with an assistant. We'd probably find out the coach was a serial arsonist who was addicted to crack.

Take Houston off the Mirotic market.

Mothefucker is gonna end up in the most infuriating spot....Utah.

They will have him and Korver and get to the 2nd round while the Blazers are one and done.

If they get Mirotic I’m going to laugh my ass off if /when we draw them in the first round.

Come on Neil. Man up. Throw in the extra pick your saving for once in your friggin' life!

It's not quite on 'zero'.....but it didn't move much either.

Gotta believe something else is gonna go down. Dame indicated something else was going to happen. Prob end up signing Melo. LOL.

Things are definitely heating up tonight around the league though.

How the HELL does Chriss have ANY value? He literally might be the worst NBA player right now.
He doesn't, the Rockets had to pay a 1st to dump him and Knight. The two of them are about equal to Turner in salary so the market is pretty clearly stating that Turner and a 1st for an expiring is fair value.

Morey is the Trader Bob of basketball these days...the dude gets shit done quickly

No shit. He's the kind of GM that you think "well that move would work out just great for Houston." Two days later he does the deal you just thought of.

Not to live in this fantasy but imagine if we got AD. Even if we got a signal from him in the summer that yo I don’t really like it here, we could then flip him to Boston for Tatum or whatever. The downside doesn’t even come close to outweighing the upside. Olshey is dumb if he’s not attempting it. If the Pelicans don’t want CJ fine. Gut tells me they would though.

Moe to Sacramento please.

Would you do Harkless and a 1st for Skal and whatever ends up being their highest 2nd? Currently we'd be moving down 15 spots for the salary dump. We'd duck the tax, clear up the rotation, and possibly free up the Full-MLE this summer.
