Can you please stop telling me what I think because I don't want to trade Nurk or trade for Griffin?
Not telling you what you think. I said "(It) sounds like"... dont avoid context for a reason to get emotional.

So your solution is not being able to guard anybody?

The gap between Mirotic’ and Moe/Aminus defense isn’t as wide as the gap between their offense. Just look at the playoffs last year as an example. Mirotic was awesome on both ends. He averaged over 2 blocks and nearly 2 steals a game. He’s underrated defensively.

Even if we got EITHER of them a championship ain't coming out way. Not if we trade Nurk or anything for Griffin.
If we added Griffin to this lineup and then KD and Boogoe left in free agency, and have a legitimate chance at winning a championship.

So blocks and steals automatically equals good defense?

And for a team like Utah, Mirotic would be a big upgrade over Aminu. For a team who has a terrible backcourt defensively, replacing two good defending forwards with two bad ones would be terrible.

Not sure why "it sounds like" that to you when I've only poo pooed trading Nurk and trading for Griffin.

Oh and if you say ANYTHING about George Hill again.... :tongue:l

Another trade of interest to me:

CJ and Collins to NY Knicks

Knox, Kantor and unprotected #1 (we help them make room for KD and add CJ and young prospect in Collins

We pick up a young SF, back up big that’s expiring and a chance at picking Zion!

We won’t make a deep run this year, but it’s a decent reload for next year

In my proposals, George Hill was only used as an expiring contract and/or half-season stopgap to replace players leaving.

I don't see Mirotic play that much but from what I have seen, he plays solid team and off ball D. Numbers aside, he looked great on D vs us.

CJs girlfriend lives in New York as well...CJ works out there off season..he'd be an allstar in the east

We might as well trade Swanigan for Davis and Trent for LeBron.

I’ve watched Mirotic play since before he was even in the NBA, so save it. You look at basketball reference and think you know everything about every player. It’s boring getting into discussions with you. He’s not a bad defender and has never been one.

*This isn’t my research since I’m too lazy and don’t care enough right now, but it backs up my claims*

From the Athletic:

Defensively, Mirotic has a reputation as an incapable defender, but that could not be further from the truth. According to Synergy, Mirotic ranks in the 95th percentile in half court defense, allowing only 0.769 points per possession. This matches my eye test. Mirotic has great awareness and knows how to position himself on defense to support the backside, help on drives and contest kick-outs. He is also a phenomenal pick-and-roll container, ranking in the 85th percentile. While he is made to look silly against the speediest point guards, he does the subtle things right.
  • Off the screen, he allows .76 ppp, -84th percentile.
  • Defending spot-ups, his .89 ppp allowed -73rd percentile.
  • On post-ups, he holds his man to .77 ppp -69th percentile.
  • .88 ppp when defending in isolation. -52nd percentile.

I think we’re gonna be big players with our expirings next year but I’m praying for a decent trade for us soon, teams are clearly selling Neil can not cop out and say nobody was available

Is there any significance to the Pelicans adding a Rich Paul client in Markieff Morris? Could he be rerouted somewhere else? Insurance for a Mirotic/Randle trade? Neither?

Traded with Davis to LA?

Really, there is only one argument: is Olshey a bad negotiator, or has he built a roster of players nobody else wants? Either way, he is letting the franchise down.

C. He’s irrationally in love with his core. Even the Hood trade didn’t include any of them.
