Removing Blake.

Here's my theory on discussions.

Magic- Fournier/Gordon
Clippers- Tobias? Bradley would be an interesting third guard but we have nothing to give them. They want all the capspace they can get.
Pelicans- Mirotic?
Wizards- Porter?
Suns- one of their SFs
Kings- Harkless dump.

Would you throw either of the Morris twins (Wiz/Suns) onto that list?

Why would a team pass on creating exceptions even if they are small?
Only justification would be to retain the ability to use the larger one for another deal in the next couple days.

I want Sun's Bridges! I know ppl are now into the "win now" difference maker BUT Bridges is learning fast & he WILL be enough as soon as next yr./the next to be the guy we need AND keep CJ!:breakdance: For the regular season (based on matchups) we start Cj (mostly) & then have Bridges/Hood @ sf/backup sg. Playoffs, we start Bridges/Hood @ sg & sf & then bring Cj off the bench:wink:trade phx.jpg

To be able to pull in a larger salary player (i.e. - Saric). Two smaller trade exceptions don't work in that situation.

I understand that. Just thought you could carry more than one TPE at a time. The larger one is expiring while you would have the smaller ones for another year. Is that not right?

Turner, Harkless, and two or three 1sts for Blake.

Stagger Blake with the bench where he'd be our primary playmaker.

We would be so good... I can't even fathom a starting lineup with Dame, CJ, Nurk, AND Blake Griffin without the expectations exceeding every other team not in Oakland. It's dizzying.

I think they would both stay. I only think it would take until this off season to convince the Brow to stay with Dame and the Blazers long term.
Maybe but still a lot money on one player and you then in couple year pay Dame whole bunch of money. You looking approx of 70 million on 2 players. Especially when we don't even know if there going to sale or keep this team. I dont even think Olshey even trying to get Davis he might kick the tires but he might have a short leash on how much he can spend over the cap. But Mirotic he that different story. You can resign for a lot cheaper and he fits the team also. But it not my money and if they got Davis yea that would change our win total but I don't think it puts by Golden state. Look what has the pelicans have done since they had Davis not really much thay got in the 2nd round last year and that about it. I think Lakers are crazy about giving up 6 players and draft picks for him. These are good young players too. That trade right there wouldn't put them pass Golden State. Especially Davis gets hurt a lot too and LeBron getting older. Don't believe giving up majority of my key pieces to get one player. Sooner or later LeBron going to retire and a lot super star don't want to play along side of LeBron.

You can have more than one for sure, but we either match hoods salary with players, or match with our TPE. So hopefully means we have something going with it

Might be reason that Olshey got open roster spot.

Combining the news about keeping the larger Vonleh Trade Exception, with this:
Teams he mentioned specifically:
Pistons
Magic
Clippers
Pelicans
Wizards
Suns
Kings
Possible targets making between $1.5M and $3.5M include:

Pistons - Bullock?
Magic - None
Clippers - None
pelicans - Miller?
Wizards - Satoransky?
Suns - Oubre?
Kings - Jackson, Skal?

Not very inspiring list there....

A couple other possible targets: Portis (Chicago), Saric (Wolves)

Taking in a player with nobody else going out would be pretty odd. We already added one player in hood to the rotation, without removing anyone. Adding a 2nd would push 2 current rotation players out. Could create some discomfort I the locker room. Especially if the upgrade isminor

One thing is that both Baldwin and Stauskas both made close to the minimum for their years of service. Getting two Trade Exceptions that you can't combine is basically worthless because there would be very few players after the deadline that would fit into either exception. So it's basically use the bigger one in the next two days or have nothing either way you slice it.

I actually think ONE first is more than enough.
I just don't think there's a lot of teams who would offer something better.

Only teams who see themselves as almost-contenders will bother with that HUGE\Insane contract.
Maybe if Boston offered Hayward and Rozier for example, but i don't see Ainge taking such a risky commitment.

I don't see Toronto take the risk because it annihilates their B-plan in case Kawai leaves.
Rockets would have to give up Gordon and the Jazz would have to give up something like Exum and Favors which is pretty good for them.

Detroit are a tough cookie tho, they like where they are now for some reason.

I think Yuyuza posted a piece from Bill Simmons rating trade values of players. Can't find it now, but:

Group H: “If You Tell Woj, I’ll Deny It to the Death … but I’m Listening”
29. CJ McCollum

Lillard at #14, in the True franchise player group.

What is all this talk about Saric?
He's their 2nd best player on a 2.5M$\year contract.

It ain't happening unless they really like Collins.

Huh? He's barely playing and producing the least he's ever produced. His new role isn't working out. It's totally plausible that they move him before his value plummets even more.

I'd even give Aminu and a pick for him.

As long as he's making pennies their front office won't mind having him.
I think this one is realistic because Collins compliments Towns better.
