I'm not worried about Banton and the number of shots. He wouldn't get those on a healthy team. I think he can beat third or fourth guard.

Damon Stoudamire is kind of a reasonable comparison for Ant. I was so excited for Damon and then I saw what he was. Hated him forever after that. He was a dick in person too.
Wrong on both topics.

Simons had some PTSD (Post Traumatic Slam Disorder) after this Jalen Green rim rocker.

More points than shots. How many times over the years did we see Dame, CJ or Ant jack up tons of shots to get their points.....all making WAAAAY more money. Sometimes it happens.
Lol

did you really just compare dalano banton chucking his way to 30 points in a glorified summer league game to dame?

No, just listed other recent Blazer players who have also had chucker nights to get their points.

Kris Murray is 23 years old and shooting 27 percent on 3-pointers.

He's not a center, so there's no place in the modern NBA for him.

Everyone knows that, which is why he attempted 6 three-pointers last night. Some of them were awful misses.

I appreciate a guy who is willing to contest a dunk even if they might get posterized.

uhhh...wut?

that may have been the dumbest 43 seconds of Ant's career, on both ends of the floor

That's dramatic. Nothing that happened last night was that big of a deal.

Why do you see him jumping to potentially make the dunk attempt more difficult as dumb? You prefer the guys who just bail and give up the points? It's not like we need to break down that scenario in terms of it making or breaking an important game.

wut...really?

you don't see Ant doing anything dumb in that sequence? OK

and just who is "breaking down the scenario"? Wyachi made a PTSD joke at Ant's expense. You're the one that stepped on the punchline trying to find virtue in Ant's synchronized jumping with Green. By the way, don't forget that Ant synchronized his jumping with Green twice in that clip. Twice the virtue for half the price!

Udoka wins a challenge. Blazers need to do better scrambling the connection to opponent Ipads
Change the password during pregame warmups. Keep the old one and pump bogus replays.
Can you imagine the looks on their faces when the refs get the call wrong?
Hmmm? I guess we already seen that but you get the point.

I know Banton is already 24 but never played more than 10 minutes a game until this year. If I had a 6'9" PG who rebounds well, works on defense and seems to be a decent ballhandler (in a team high 38 minutes last night, had five assists and only 2 turnovers), and my team was going nowhere; I would let him shoot as much as he wants. Either he develops a decent shot, which makes him a valuable asset or he doesn't, in which case it makes an easy decision to get rid of him and look for other options.

Nah bro, players who go up to try to stop an opposing player is always good in my book.

Did I say Ant didn't do anything dumb in that sequence? All I commented on was him contesting the dunk attempt. If you're right and that really was the dumbest 43 seconds of his career, than we're all greatly under-appreciating him.

I've always had a difficult time differentiating between the posts where the OP actually believes what they said despite being way over the top and the ones that are unseriously hyperbolic and scarcastic. I'm still unsure if the Rupert playing time threads are serious or a really well played joke!

it's no big deal Tince...I was just giving you some shit for crediting Ant for a rather weak attempt to contest a slam-dunk he essentially gifted the Houston player in the first place

I thought I didn't need to green font the "dumbest 43 seconds" sarcasm

I deserve all the shit (and more) that I'm given!

Simons had a vicious lefty jam on Rudy Gobert a few nights ago. Ant can give as good as he gets. But after last night's in the face tomahawk, Ant went 0-4 and even missed a pair of FT's.

i still question the 1-4 flat offense Billups employs. The Rockets took advantage of leaving Anfernee as lone defender in transition. Houston doubled up the Blazers in fast break 37-18.

It generally feels like he's the target of every offense. They actively switch to get him on a lone island. Not good.

Simons getting scored on is going to happen. But occasionally Ant will get some stops. What annoys me with some Billups defensive schemes, is they'll zip a defender over to double team the guy Simons is guarding. Then we get to watch the opponents pass the ball around until they find a wide open shooter. Or they shove Anfernee in a strange looking zone "do something" role, and Simons gets cooked because he doesn't know who he's supposed to guard.

I say let Anfernee earn his keep. Straight man to man coverage, simple switches, let the chips fall where they may
