I'll just cut to the chase.
We should have picked Durant!
We should have picked Thompson!
We should have picked Sengun!

Probably should have picked Jabari also....

These Rockets are the shoulda woulda coulda BLAZERS!

I'll be really happy if our guys just stay competiitve in this one. A win would be mind blowing but if our guys will just bring the intensity on both ends then I think that will be a great outcome.

Before the Thunder game I was like No way and was proven wrong but one thing I am pretty sure of for this game. If they start slow in this game very good chance this game is over by the half. My predictions are two fold IF they WIN and if they lose

Win -- 3 pt win similar to Thunder game
Loss -- 15 plus -- not one doubt in my mind on this one cause they will run it up and let the scrubs have the last quarter

Now where I would put my money IF i was a betting man --- I love the Blazers but they are beat up and near the end of this road trip so I am saying a LOSS but then they have to beat Dallas or this trip was not good -- period.

IF I am wrong -- Grant after being ejected ( BS ejection BTW ) he will go off for 30 plus leading to a really close game / win .

but 27th in opponent FG%. So is the defense really that good? KD will help himself to 50 tonight, most likely.

Small sample size but Portland is #1 in the league in both opponent 3 point attempts and makes: https://www.nba.com/stats/teams/opponent?dir=A&sort=OPP_FG3A

8th in % allowed. That's surprising to me.

but, a lot of other opponent shooting numbers are bad:

19th in opponent TS%
20th in opponent eFG%

they are limiting opponent FGA, largely, it would seem, because they are 1st in forcing turnovers. But they are 21st in DRB% and 30th in FT/FGA

I don't think our defense has been good. I was just posting that because I was surprised we were first in 3 point defense since it has not felt that way from watching the games. I also can't tell if it's something we're really emphasizing or its just a product of small sample size or our porous dribble drive/penetration defense. To me, it has felt as if guys are just blowing past our initial defense, which is odd with all the good individual defenders we have. Toumani and Jrue in particular have not been good at containing dribble penetration, but I'm now wondering if that is just a function of what our defense is trying to do (limit 3s, allow drives).

Would love to see a split of how are defense has been SINCE Wesley and Tisse went down.
