Every time I buy OR sell a gun, I have to go through a background check with the State Police, and I have to PAY for that background check. Every time I buy a SILENCER (a simple pipe that muffles a gunshot, which is only allowed in certain states because it scares Liberals), not only do I have to go through a background check with the FEDERAL GOVERNMENT, but I have to file Federal Paperwork, and wait anywhere from 9 months to about 2 years before I can even take possession of it. And I cannot loan it out to anyone, nor use it without possession of the appropriate paperwork, which I MUST have on my person while using it.

Oh, and did I mention I have to get permission from my local Chief LEO, and pay a $200 tax to the ATF before I can buy it? AND IT'S NOT EVEN A WEAPON! The only way you're going to hurt someone with this is by hitting them in the face with it.

Do you believe in the militarization of local law enforcement? No, I don't. I've done countless hours of volunteer work and working closely with LEOs of all walks of life. I believe it is blown out of proportion by the media, plain and simple.

Do you believe that felons should be allowed to have guns? Since that's already illegal, the answer is obvious: No.

Do you believe that illegal aliens should be allowed to have guns? They are here illegally, and thus: breaking the law. So no, I do not.

Children? That depends. Many families in this country allow their children to have their own guns, which of course they keep responsibly locked up and educate their children properly about gun safety. So it depends on the family, and I believe it should be the parent's decision.

On a side note, I believe basic firearms safety should be taught in schools in a non-required curriculum. That would be one step in erasing Hollywood's stigma that guns are to be feared and glorified as tools of murder and criminal activity, AND it would serve to properly educate kids about PROPER gun safety.

What is the definition of a gun in modern society? Interesting question, which I believe deserves an answer which, I admit, is far too big for this thread, nor am I interested in typing up pages on the subject at the moment. But it's a good question.

As a gun owning conservative I don't mind having these conversations. ALL of us should be talking about this issue, both sides, whether you agree or disagree on the subject. Silence on this subject is not working, and we DO need a national conversation about it. But Politicians NEED to allow BOTH sides to contribute: those who hate guns, and those who don't. Thus far, good ol' Obummer has only allowed anti-gun spoksmen and those who are against gun ownership to accompany him at the white house for conversations on this subject.

On a side note I would fully support federal legislation that outlaws the use of fire arms outside the physical control of the owner. Mounting guns on drones is not something we want to have happen. I disagree, only because that while yes, it can BECOME a problem, I do not believe it is currently so. And I don't think you can take a 3 second GIF of a Glock on a drone and call it "drones with guns". I think that's a little too vague. And who's to argue that controlling a drone with a remote control is not technically outside of the owners "physical control"?

I think that would start down the road of more unnecessary Federal Regulations, of which we neither have the money nor the manpower to enforce.

As long as you don't use those same laws against the law-abiding, and make laws against the law-abiding that only effect criminals, then I don't see a problem with barring felons and illegals certain rights. Felons have proven that they are incapable of exercising responsible use of rights in normal society, and illegals aren't citizens of this country.

Other than that, I think that arguing that not allowing those two people to own firearms is a vague argument at best, because they are specialized cases.
