Do they need a shooter at SG? I'm not sure how I feel about this, but it would cut a year off the life of the contract, save a couple million each year, and give us a good scoring option when Nurk rests. With all the garbage that Turner and Aminu throw up, you'd think Kanter would have a field day dunking put-backs.

I think this would be more helpful to them than us, unless something bad happens to Nurkic.

"I grew up a Lakers and a Clippers fan. I idolized Kobe [Bryant]. There will always be a tie here, a connection here. People saying I want to come here, who doesn't want to play for their hometown? That's a dream come true, if you're a kid growing up on the outskirts of L.A., to be the man in your city. But it's definitely been overstated. For me, it's all about winning. I want to be in a good system, a good team. I want a shot to win it. I'm not a stats guy. I'm playing this game to win and build a legacy of winning. I've yet to do that. I'm searching for it. If we get a killer season in Oklahoma, we make the conference finals or upset the Warriors or do something crazy, I'd be dumb to want to leave that."

Honestly, Portland was a better situation for him. And a better deal for Indiana. SMH

It does, indeed. The more general metaphor comes from a phrase, "an albatross around the neck" meaning something that weighs heavily on the person and that phrase is based on The Rime of the Ancient Mariner.
The titular mariner shoots an albatross while at sea, which is a huge taboo and brings about the death of all his shipmates. But before they die they tie it round his neck as a punishment.
I had to memorize parts of it when I was a kid. My fave:
"Like one who on a lonely road doth walk in fear and dread
And having once looked round, walks on
And turns no more his head
Because he knows a frightful fiend
Doth close behind him tread"

Good stuff!

I know everyone's saying this, but remember how Oladipo was going to be for sure the best player in his draft class? I think he's going to look better when he's not playing next to Mr. Ballhog.

Don't be so superstitious. And have a bite of this albatross burger.

I'm not superstitious at all. I don't believe in jinxes. What I do believe in is the law of attraction.

And if you speak negativity and vibrate negatively, negativity will come your way. Same thing with positivity.

That's not how reality works. Negatives attract positives. Did Paula Abdul teach you nothing?!

Has anyone heard ANY rumors about Plumlee? It's a shame we don't really need him at this point unless we make some trades, and that's he's a RFA, we could probably sneak in and get him with our mini MLE .

I misspoke. I should have said "don't believe crazy shit".

I'd honestly take either of the Plumlee brothers right now. It's why having no money fucking sucks. Even if we only has 10 mill we could take chance on low risk player. Those roster spots are held by players who will never make it in this league.

so far no offers from other teams, the C position is in "glut" status in the NBA, so he likely gets a decent offer from Denver but IMO it will be on the bargain
side

So Brooklyn has $16.5 million in cap space. That means they could eat Crabbe's deal.

I don't see why they would, when they can probably get a superior player like Caldwell-Pope, or toss an offer at Jonathon Simmons.
