Blazers-Spurs game thread

This is the most disappointing performance of the year by the Blazers for me. Horrible offense and horrible defense against a crippled team. Unbelievable.

The Spurs are a superior team who is beating a superior collection of talent.

All our West competition won tonight and Denver is up big too. Bad night for us.

You have to give the Spurs a ton of credit. They have completely taken Brandon Roy out of his game. I tip my hat to San Antonio.

They always do a great job guarding Brandon. Their championship experience is definitely showing. I just wish Nate would have let Bayless take his shot to see what would happen.

Holy crap I was just listening to the radio during the late 3rd/early 4th and holy hell is it depressing to listen to Wheels. I nearly wanted to pull off the side of the road and off myself from listening to him. I love his radio show but geezzz...

Rough loss. I'm disappointed, but not incredibly surprised. Hopefully we can rebound against Minnesota. I don't think I can handle all the whining and backseat coaching that is sure to follow this loss, so I'm out. Gnite yall!

The next time Roy shows up against a top 9 WC team on the road, we'll win.

Depressing loss. Finally get to see a game and it's a loss.

This is pretty much a microcosm of all that went wrong last season. Bad D and no inside scoring.

Way to stand pat KP.

Greg Oden and Jerryd Bayless were changing that, but Oden is injured, and Bayless will probably never play another minute as long as Nate McMoron is the coach.

We'll be alright. Back in MJ's dominant days with the Bulls, they'd always lose their road trip in Texas. It's tough. At least we didn't have to play Dallas on the trip as well. I used to root against the Bulls back then and it was in Texas that I had my fun.

Superior team my ass. Outside of their Big 3 they're a bunch of stiffs.

I agree. We're the superior collection of talent. They're the better team. Just like we all learned in June, 1977, the superior team will generally beat the superior collection of talent.

Losing to Minnesota would be much more disappointing to me. Young teams get into funks and we've seen the Blazers lose their confidence in the past from stuff like this. If they really have improved with experience they will go out and open a can of whoop ass on the T'Wolves. They need to go out and dominate a road game.

Look at it this way: we're 1-1 vs the Spurs. We can't win in their building, but they can't win in ours!! Take that! Spurs can't win at Rose Garden. Suns can't win at Rose Garden. Jazz can't win at Rose Garden. Rockets can't win at Rose Garden.

Did you watch the game? The other guys play pretty well.

Of course I watched the game. That's why I'm so pissed off! How can you let a 6-2 point guard beat you all by himself??? Ridiculous!

You do realize that the last Spurs/Blazers game in Portland was the first time that Portland beat the Spurs in Portland, since Jesus was in the 3rd grade, right?

WTF!!!??? Our win this year vs them broke a 12 game losing streak, they can beat us if we played on Mars, Ethiopia, or Boring,Or

Do you really think Brandon had a bad game by chance? The Spurs forced him to take shots in places that made him uncomfortable.

He missed a lot of those floaters in the paint, he got his looks..just an off night..please quit sweatin the Spurs for their D, they won with Parker on offense and timely 3 pt shooting..NOT their D on Roy

So take it to the rim. The truly great players like Kobe, LeBron, CP3 will force their will on the game. Roy can do it at home, not on the road though.

And it sure doesn't look like we're going to end up with home court advantage in the play offs. :crystalball:

We get within 5 with 2:41 left, Nate pulls Sergio for uh...just because I guess :dunno:, and we get outscored 2-12 the rest of the way.

Sergio had 7 assists in 19 minutes.

The rest of the team had 5.

Roy has led his team to a better record than CP3 has led his team to. And CP3 has an All Star teammater.

I think the 1st Clippers game this year, takes the game for worst/most disappointing game of the season

I'm talking about THIS team. They can't beat THIS team in our building. We are merely 1-1 against the Spurs. They don't own us as much as people would like to think in here.

Let me just take this time to acknowledge one of the funniest posts I've ever read. I think it deserves an admiring "silent moment" from the rest of the board.
