Dame asks for trade (And there it is) (4 Viewers)

I mostly post stupid idiotic stuff for fun, but this post is really sad. This is just a game and an outlet from real life. I'm so sorry that happened to you. I hope you've gotten to the other side and found love from more kind and loyal sources. I'm bummed too, but I hope Scoot makes us forget about all this bullshit and drama the past two years. Also, Dame could've gotten hurt and been an albatross here. Time to rip the bandaid off, get excited about youth, and hope the team sells to uncle Phil.
Dame asking for a trade forced this guy to post without chatgpt. That’s crayyyy

I will say that I believe he will regret this decision. He was different because he was loyal. Now he's just another superstar who needs to join a superteam to have a chance to win a ring. No different from anyone else. My guess is he will fail.

We desperately need to get new ownership or it's just going to be the same with the young guys.

Imagine if we traded Dame for Steph.

How would you feel? That would be absolutely wild. It will never happen, but if there will ever be a time to talk about it, the time is nigh.

Who would improve, or would it be a wash?

The future with Dame was annoyingly treading water and we all knew it. It still sucks in the moment, but this just forces us to move more quickly to the star backcourt of the future.

Loyal to the soil, to me, means willing to go through the process good or bad, he was, for a long time, but he bailed out.

He has every right to do so, but the loyalty claim now seems like a marketing ploy rather than true.

Will always like him, but say what you want, not a great look

The loyalty thing doesn't bother me because for me it's either:

A) people question that he's only loyal because he got paid even when the team sucks.

Or

B) he leaves because the organization never helped him.

It is what it is but at some point people grow tired of not seeing progress.

Well we just got a boatload of cap room and Ant is probably smiling somewhere

I had a feeling it was coming. We weren’t doing Jack shit to appease him and it felt deliberate.
I try not to look into things, but I couldn't help thinking the same thing. The classic force the other person to break up with you thing.

So now he’s saying to the Heat only? Guess he has a no trade I didn’t know about? Fuck you Pat Riley.

I think it's maybe too generous to give Joe credit for our future (2 lottery picks turned potential stars).
At this moment, I'm not confident he'll be getting us much in the Dame trade.
He hasn't proven himself particularly capable in anything except getting Grant.

So we'll see what happens here, but we better hope we don't find ourselves in the "just need one more all star" realm once again in 4-5 years or were doomed.

Never said he proved himself. But that at least he set us up. That's all I said.

Agreed. It sucks because everyone was emotionally attached to Dame. But the cloud is gone and we picked a path. Time to move forward.

Not confident in Joe though.

He's days away from 33. Dude doesn't have much time left. I don't blame him at all.

Sharpe was unproven.

Scoot has been playing against grown men for two years.
Scoot has been playing against grown men which couldn’t get a bench spot for the Pistons.

Maybe Fenerbahçe wouldn’t even sign them, who knows…. Nothing against Fenerbahçe.

Oh, and we now have our timeline chosen lol. Yay?

PA is probably turning over in his grave today. Sad to see it happen but I don't really blame Dame. Better get a haul for real.

Somebody else needs to buy the team though. What a joke. I'll probably tune back in once the rookies have a few NBA games under their belt. For now, I'm pretty disgusted. Off-season isn't over as moves are obviously coming, so I guess we'll see.

I'm going to miss Dame, but its for the best. When I saw the current roster it made now sense keeping him. Just get the best deal for the franchise please

Btw where did this thread go? It is not on the front page.

I refreshed and it said “not found” and I thought I was banned for my legitness or something.

But apparently we’ve all been transported to another dimension.

There is a fifth dimension beyond that which is known to man. It is a dimension as vast as space and as timeless as infinity. It is the middle ground between light and shadow, between science and superstition, and it lies between the pit of man's fears and the summit of his knowledge. This is the dimension of imagination. It is an area which we call "The Twilight Zone".

We have to accept reality.

I love Dame as much as anyone, but we were at a crossroads. I disagreed with Cronin’s approach that we could rebuild on the fly.

We had to choose a path, but Dame made the decision for us.

This will accelerate our rebuild and I’m optimistic about our future.

Summer League is going to be fun.

Well…. Like I said yesterday and some people wanted to argue… signing Grant didn’t mean shit for keeping Dame happy. Grant was chasing his money and wanted his biggest deal. Didn’t matter where it came from.

Another dimension, another dimension...

The brightside is with Dame we were a fringe playoff (or play-in team) and without him we probably won't be good at all, like another top draft pick good while hoping to see more growth from Sharpe and seeing good things from Scoot

Sure, understood. But as they say, it takes years to build a reputation, seconds to destroy it. Great player forever, but he lost the loyalty reputation.

Dude, ownership and front office forced him out. Dame didn't do anything wrong at all. He asked for the bare minimum and they wouldn't spend the money to put a team around him.

He deserves a bigger stage.
