Kinda funny how Dame being talked into sitting out games has resulted in him requesting a trade.
Because he was sold a bullshit bill of goods by snake oil saleman Cronin. This is one of the biggest back stabbings in sports history.

Cronin lied. Let the spin doctoring begin.

The only jersey I own is a Zach Randolph jersey I got on clearance for 10 bucks, and I only got it to wear playing ball.
I still have Rod Strickland, Stacey Augmon, Damon…. I think those were my blazers. I have Grant Hill in the OG pistons colors. I have Penny. I have Jordan. Rodman. Reggie Miller. Iverson. Oh…. I have a Derek Anderson jersey. I had way too many jerseys from when I was in high school.

The future is bright, and can't wait to see this young squad develop. So much potential as is, and now we add to it. Be fun to see who takes the reigns...Obviously, Scoot seems to have the alpha gene, but this opens the door for Sharpe. This is what makes the game fun. Happy for Chauncey as well.
I'm not sure Chauncey is here by the end of the year. Is he the right guy for this young group? We'll see.

I was wrong about Dame staying......regardless. I say this to all that I argued with , commented on, or that may have been affected by my general posting.

I will say, however, that I will always believe, it is my way. I'll do it again. Fool me once, shame on me, Fool me twice....well...that's me!

That said, I have no animosity about Dame or the team. It is what it is, time to move on once a trade happens, and I'm ready for whatever happens.

I'm not surprised at all. It was overdue for Dame to leave. Blazer's org is not capable or willing to build around Dame. The way the Blazers front office handled this though doesn't sit well with me.

The scary part is: If they're not capable or willing to build around a top 75 player who is ultra-loyal, then they may have an even harder time hanging on to less talented, younger players, who don't have that loyalty.

Until things change and the tippy top, this could be ugly.

At the tippy top has to include Adam Silver and the referees first.

Thirty. Three. Years. Old.

Trades involving multiple teams in the NBA are exceedingly complicated. Just ask the New York Knicks and Houston Rockets how much of a hassle it is these days as they struggle to find suitable partners to include in moving Carmelo Anthony.

On Aug. 2, 2005, five teams somehow managed to pull off what remains to this day the largest trade in league history, with 13 players and a litany of draft picks being shuffled as a result.

Brace yourselves:

  • Miami Heat received Antoine Walker (Celtics), Jason Williams (Grizzlies), James Posey (Grizzlies), Andre Emmett (Grizzlies), and draft rights to Roberto Duenas (Hornets)
  • Memphis Grizzlies received Eddie Jones (Heat) and Raul Lopez (Jazz)
  • New Orleans Hornets received Rasual Butler (Heat) and Kirk Snyder (Jazz)
  • Boston Celtics received Qyntel Woods (Heat), Curtis Borchardt (Jazz), the draft rights to Albert Miralles (Heat), a 2006 second-round pick (Heat), and a conditional second round pick (Heat)
  • Utah Jazz received Greg Ostertag (Grizzlies)
The Heat emerged as the real winners here, walking away with a number of assets that helped catapult them to the championship in 2005-06. The crown jewel of it all was Walker, who was a multiple-time All-Star and was coming off a season in which he averaged 19.1 points, nine rebounds, and 3.4 assists across 77 games with both the Celtics and Atlanta Hawks.

In South Beach, both Walker and Williams started all 23 of the Heat's playoff outings their first year with the franchise, and were the biggest contributors outside of Dwyane Wade and Shaquille O'Neal. Posey was no slouch either, with his outside shooting and defense on the wing paying dividends more often than not.

Chris Haynes was the 1st to break the story this morning and said his preferred destinations were Miami AND Brooklyn. Assuming Dame or his agent tipped him off, Miami is going to have to beat Brooklyn's (better) offer.

assuming Brooklyn is willing to deal...they might not be

Just send Dame to the Spurs for Vaselli and 5 first round picks
