We need a center that chooses violence at the rim instead of his patented fadeaway layup

The "violence" is because they can't shoot. They'll never hit a game winning shot or be a go-to scorer you can throw the ball to. That's the downside of such a center.

Nurk 3 years ago is not the same Nurkic now. He's still very helpful, a lot of positives in Nurk's game, but he's not nearly as nimble as his past career. And he misses more time now with minutes restrictions and injuries. Without Nurkic the Blazers STRUGGLE. Great for tanking, Jusuf helped the Blazers get Scoot & Shaedon by skipping the last ~20 games.

For the starting unit, all of them.
I'm with MM on this one, no way. Ideally scoring comes from a few and the other players have complimentary skills that lead to winning.

What I value most from a 5 isn't their perimeter threat or one on one ability, it's superior defense & rebounding... Big man stuff. If he's athletic & reasonably coordinated at the least he can be effective setting picks, rolling as a solid lob threat and hitting the boards.

Ayton?

I definitely prefer his game to Nurk's, however he's very expensive. I love his versatility on D. He would take up such a large percentage of the cap a team would have to really know they want to hitch their wagon to the guy.

I'm not looking for a short term fix. I'm hoping Joe & Co have the patience to build a long term juggernaut. With a 19 and 20 year old leading the team, it's probably going to be a couple seasons until hopefully they've got something going. Hopefully Scoot and Shaedon are worthy students for the lessons they're about to receive and show high ceiling potential. I'm very excited about this upcoming season.

This is what I've been saying for months and some fans wanna give him away to Miami like he has no value.

So very stupid.
Not to be a dick BUT what’s with the “I’ve been saying for months” stuff?

I’m aware I’m being rude and I’m sorry, I just want to understand. The forum is rife with these types of declarations. Is it like “told you so”? Or some kind of need for validation?

In my opinion, the only form of this that is cool at all is when SOMEONE ELSE says something like “Hey, that’s what you’ve been saying for months!” See that’s cool. Let THEM toot your horn.

I thin the reasoning is, "I was right before, so you should believe me again." Not that it makes the statements less childish. (Note: I do love saying "I told you so." But i don't know shit about the blazers)

I've been saying this for years ....
