Why did you post this? That too, in this thread?

That was disgusting. You're a mod for Godsakes. At least put a warning or spoiler tag on that.

It literally had a title explaining what it was. Why did you click on it?

Still can't understand what that had to do with the draft and rumors. But you get your jollies however you want.

This is the discussion thread of the day. It's something that just came out. I'm not gonna create a whole new thread for that.

Yep. OKC has to choose between Ibaka and Adams and it seems that they have chosen Adams.

Even then they are going to be in Luxury Tax hell soon (assuming Durant comes back of course).

We shall see..... did you get to see him play?
Only a few times, and reading about him more in the past few weeks after seeing his name pop up all over on this site. I hope he does pan out. Seems like a hard worker and good kid.

Putting this here as well because it is a rumor:

Not a reliable source, but if true I approve (certainly more than Howard or Monroe).

Why not reliable?

It is interesting if this is coming from Whiteside's camp.

If it is coming from Whiteside's camp then they are just negotiating and getting his price up. I think he'll stay with Miami.
Not sure what the point of negotiating is. He will get a max contract from multiple teams, including most likely Miami.

MIA doesn't have his full bird rights. They can only pay him roughly MAX money if Wade takes a HUGE pay cut.

Not really all that huge. If they renounce everyone, they can still pay Wade something like 18M and give Whiteside the max.

So if our summer is signing someone like Whiteside with our cap space, and nothing else, will that be enough?

I just don't know. Honestly, I'd almost rather have Howard. I know he's older, and I know he has a history of back problems.... but the guy is a proven scorer. He's a threat in the post. Whiteside is not.

Some of those are no big deal to renounce (Joe Johnson, Stoudemire, Wright) but some of those are not no-brainers (Deng and Tyler Johnson who they really like as a young guy). But yes, huge is at least slight overstatement. Cut for sure though. And it could be a HUGE cut if they do keep one of their cap holds or resign a guy.

There were reports about a month ago that they were going to ask HW to take less than the max.

Whiteside averaged 14 pts a game last year. Howard averaged 13.7 last year, 15.8 the year before. As his athleticism has declined, so has his ability to score.
