Ducks get LOI form Dave Luli right out of husky turf.

caps a pretty big day. Ducks moved from 54 to 25 in team rankings on 247; and from 38 to 17 in the On3 rankings. As far as the Pac-12 rankings, on 247:

and On3:

can't just look at the total score though. Have to also gauge by quality of recruit or average ranking. USC leads there but Oregon is 2nd

and, of course, this isn't complete because of the transfer portal. USC has taken 13 players from the portal including Caleb Williams and Travis Dye

Ducks have used the portal too, but not as much:

how On3 arrived at the NIL average, I have no idea

Duck still have a shot at 5-star OT Josh Conerly, especially if Harbaugh leaves Michigan. But USC is pushing hard too....and just like that, Harbaugh back to Michigan

by the way....LOL at the Huskies

Oregon men win for first time ever in Boulder, beating Colorado 66-51. Richardson and Young both good on D and O. Neither Dante or Kepnang showing much improvement over the season, so Altman brought Bittle in for the first time in a conference game when it counted. he didn't do much either.

Beaver fans, serious question. What has happened this year? They returned some key players from last year's deep run.
3-16.....how is that even possible? Injuries? coaching, or just bad chemistry?
What did they lose that they did not replace?

Edit: Never mind. I just Canzano's article

I thought Bittle was supposed to be NBA material. I remember reading so much hype regarding his recruiting.

Oregon has a long history of recruiting really hyped players that never pan out in basketball though. Off the top of my head; Bryce Taylor, Malik Hairston, Dunnigan

I like what I see from Bittle. But Dana had to tighten his rotation early this season after a horrible start. They just have too many bigs right now. For once no one has gotten hurt.

Bryce Taylor, Hairston, Dunigan.......all each with 12 years in the pros so far. Not horrible

He's very young and a little bit frail looking but I think he'll be fine. He's smart and a hard worker.

I think we caught lightning in a bottle last year and this year Tinkle missed on his transfer signings.

Yeah after reading Canzano's article I see that you lost a lot of leaders from last year. Talent you can replace, but leaders are harder to fine. (Which is why we should not trade Dame)

Duck's men's team barely beat a bad Utah team. Team does not look good. bad turnovers at the end and they don't shoot free throws well; doen't bode well for close games against good teams. Eric Williams still taking bad hots; Dante and Kepnang just look awkward. Will Ricahardson won the game almost singlehandedly, made a lot of tough shots.

I should add that Williams made two clutch free throws and threw a great pass that led to a victory clinching basket.

Men's team beat a tough Stanford team 68-60, despite having a six minute stretch without a made basket and only one made FT. I think Harmon had his best game with 21 points on 5 for 8 shooting and two steals. Dante seemed smoother tonight and was 5 for 6 with 7 rebounds, 2 steals and a block. Richardson bad shooting night but scored 8 point in a two minute stretch late and made some key free throws, no turnovers.

I very much appreciate you giving us these recaps!

Thank you!

Ducks having a nightmare game against Cal today ; trailing by largest halftime margin ever (38-22) at Knight Arena. Almost a nine minute drought as Cal went on a 24-0 run. Ernie Kent claims Ducks are getting destroyed by the high post screen and don't seem to be making an adjustment to it.

Ducks never really able to close the gap; lose 78-64; shoot 38% overall, 18% from three. i think they will still somehow get into the tournament, but won't go anywhere once they get there. They just don't have the shooters.

Men's basketball team against WSU in a crucial game for both if they want to get into the tournament. Ducks 35-29 at half. Dante and Young having good games.

Ducks eke it out 62-59 despite turning the ball over very late on an inbounds play. Dante and Kepnang shoot 10 for 15 between them and Kepnang has four blocks. I see Harmon make some nice plays and think he should be featured on offense, but then see he shot 5 for 14, most shots on the team. I still think Eric Williams is kind of a weak link in the rotation. At this point Ducks are considered last four in for NCAA tournament.

After tomorrow's game at ASU (should be a win, though a possible "trap game"), their next three games are against ranked teams. A loss to Arizona shouldn't hurt them terribly, but it feels like they'll need to sweep the S0-Cal teams in Eugene if they don't want to drop out of the bracketology bubble.

I have a feeling that loss to Cal is going to haunt them come selection Sunday.

this Duck team just doesn't look like Altman's normal close of the season teams. It has too many flaws, the biggest of which is that they can go completely dead in the water in shooting. Against Colorado they were 1-19 from three before hitting 6 of their last 7 but by then it was too little too late, especially because the Duck D was allowing the Buffs wide open looks all game, which they hit

I think they'll likely miss the tournament unless they win the Pac-12 tourney

This will be my last report on the Ducks' Men's basketball team. I have rarely ever stopped watching one my favorite teams mid-game but I did that tonight, Somehow this team just doesn't have it. No shooters and not a real leader, not someone who can will them to victory, Maybe next year they will find someone who can step up.....

Apparently the Blazers' tank went about 100 miles south. My goodness, what a pathetic effort.

the Duck BB team is either hot or cold...there's no in-between, and there's been way too much cold this year. One of Altman's worst Duck teams
