I’m watching Ducks vs UCLA right now. I can’t help but wonder why in the world that UCLA guard wants hair like that. It’s gotta hurt his game a little. Blocks his vision, extra weight. I don’t understand it.

So many hard to pronounce names on the Ducks basketball team is starting to annoy me
 
Oregon, this season, has it's worst team 3ptFG% in the last 23 years. Right now it's 31.9%. That ranks 304th out of 363

Their guards are pretty awful. It seems like losing Stubblefield to DePaul was a huge loss.
 
It is kind of a disappointment; the kids fought really hard in all three NIT games, even with their three best players sitting because of injuries. The team was actually more fun to watch without those three, maybe that's why the fans didn't come because the team wasn't really that much fun to watch this year. But even when they were really good and exciting other years, they didn't get sellouts.

Nobody cares about the NIT.

It sucks for the kids, but like...... it's a consolation prize and wasn't it finals week?
 
Ware hitting the transfer portal. I think most expected him to declare for the draft.

I don't think he showed enpugh to do well in the draft. And I guess he didn't mesh well with Altman, who wouldn't give him a lot of minutes untill he showed he deserved them.

agree, if he has a chance to go much higher next year if he plays better than at UO.

I've given up trying to track the number of scholarship players as they're adding and subtracting daily. Sucks to see Brown go as he's from Oregon and was all about it, but in Lanning's schemes and the transfers he's targeted clearly the LBs have to be able to drop into coverage and that was not Keith's forte.

In more positive news, they landed a stud 6'6 300 lb DT named Tionne Gray for the 2024 class and for hoops N'Faly Dante announced he's returning.

yeah....I subscribe to a couple of Duck college football sites. The scholarship numbers are always in flux, but the deadline for entering the portal just passed. The 'word' is that none of the un-commited portal Ducks will be allowed to back out of the portal and that Oregon is eyeing a couple of other guys in the portal who haven't committed yet. There is no deadline for players in the portal committing to a school

anyway, the count, right now, is supposedly at 82 scholarships, but there is some confusion on whether or not a walk-on 3rd string long-snapper is on scholarship....so maybe 83

yeah...hard to say at this point what kind of options they have. Most have found new homes though, just not the recent departures

Some of those kids put nothing on tape while at Oregon, which of course limits the portal possibilities for them. We're in a weird one off time in college football. The portal has just starting up so everyone is figuring whats what with it. Covid granted guys an extra year of eligibility so there are approximately 20% more players eligible to be playing in the same amount of overall spots on teams. On top of that, Oregon turned over it's coaching staff and while it's normal for there to be an extra amount of roster turnover within a program when that happens, the rules have changed...

While I feel for the kids that were "processed", I don't fault Lanning for doing all he can under the current rules to put together a roster that can best execute his schemes. I do not agree with the new rules as I feel it puts the product over the interests of the kids playing, but thems the rules. I hope all the portal kids graduate, find their path/calling and are forever proud Ducks.
